Blood Stained

Chapter 100: Epilogue

A few years later.

The sun was just rising as he felt the warmth of the rays raise the temperature of his skin. Through the sleepiness and his closed eyes, a smirk appeared on his lips. Never in his life had he ever felt so relaxed before. He was going to press himself into his bed even more, until he felt hands on his bare stomach. The smirk on his face grew larger as her warm little hands felt great against his flesh. He slowly opened his eyes and then looked down at her. Her hair was wet, he could only assume it was from a shower. The other thing he noticed was her bare chest, her breasts pressed against his own stomach, her hard nipples brushing against him.

Even after all these years, all he needed was her body close to his and he was doomed. Everything about her always aroused him and he loved her even more than the first day.

Ignoring the way he was lost in his thoughts, she only began to get closer to him. A playful smirk was upon her face as she bit on her bottom lip, looking so teasingly up at him. Like a cat making its way to its prey, she hunted him. Over the years, she grew comfortable within her own skin and in their relationship. Bad memories were far away, unable to affect them and their happiness. This was the man she loved, the one who made her smile every day, the one who gave her the greatest gifts in the world. Her children.

Sesshomaru raised a hand to her cheek and gently brushed up his thumb across her cheekbone. Her eyes still sparkled with the same light as it did all those years ago. She almost looked the same and he hoped it was because their bond was lengthening her life. They did not find an answer to that question and after a while they both decided it was better not to think about it. If the time came that it became a problem, they would try. For now, they had to live, they had to be happy together. Their happiness was what kept them together, what kept them bonded throughout all those years.

While he was being kind and sweet, Kagome took the opportunity to sneak up on him. She laced her arms around his neck before pressing her plump lips against his, savouring his mouth. He rapidly returned the kiss, letting his tongue invade her mouth as passion filled his heart. As she voluntarily pressed her body against his, he found himself wrapping his arms around her waist, feeling her smooth skin. He could not detached himself from her, he could not stop tasting her. She was his, only his. He spent a lot of time fighting for her and she was his. He did not have to worry about losing her, he did not have to worry about someone taking her away from him.

The kiss went on for a little while longer before she pulled away, pressed her nose against his. She laughed softly, which was the sweetest sound he had ever heard, before kissing the tip of his nose. "Morning sunshine."

"Do we have time for this?" he asked, slowly losing the battle. He wanted to have her, he wanted to enjoy her body. However, they might be running out of time.

"My mother is not supposed to bring the kids back for another half an hour."

They were used to long moments of passion but ever since they added another bundle of joy to their family, time was a luxury they did not have. Sometimes, ten minutes was a long run. It was a good thing her mate had super speed or they might just never get anything done. Half an hour was almost a gift. They could use that time to explore each's other bodies and take advantage of every little caresses. She was not about to let this go to waste; she would use up every single minute.

Kagome crashed her lips against his again and this time he found himself completely lost into. She was right, who was he to put a stop to this little piece of heaven? She bit on his bottom lip, causing him to feel a sting of pain, but he didn't stop. Their lovemaking evolved over the years. At first they were scared and confused and it was sweet and steady. Then, when he merged all those years ago, his instincts kicked in and they began to let a fiery passion filled them. Now, he managed to erase the pain, the hurt and the bad time from her mind. They were free with each other. Nothing held them back. He hissed as she pressed more and more of her naked body against his.

His will felt so thin, she felt so willing.

His hands roamed over her body as she moaned into his mouth, sending him into a spiral of lust. Her hair was tangled through his finger and he could not help thrusting against her. His tongue slipped into her mouth as he tasted her sweetness. This was the warmth, the feeling of wholeness he had been looking for all this time. He found it each time he kissed her. He made a promise and he never broke it. He made sure that every day, he would let her know how grateful he was for having it. He would cherish her, he would never hurt her again. Never would he be the cause of her tears rolling down her cheeks.

So far, he kept his word.

"I need you," she breathed, her heart pulsing in her chest. "Please."

Oh, all he wanted was to answer her, give her what she need. His mind was filled with lust. All he needed was her, he had to feel her, touch her, make her feel good, better than she ever wished for in her life. When was the last time he heard her beg for something? God they needed to use her mother as babysitter way more often - he was about to lose his mind.

"We're home."

Oh they had to be fucking kidding him. This was not happening, this was not his life. His grip on Kagome's hips tightened and he closed his eyes, trying to inhaled deeply to calm the urges that were spreading through his body.

"Why did we have another one?"

"Because you couldn't keep your hands off me?"

"Valid point."

He loved his daughter to death. He would not take that moment back for anything. Although at that precise moment he found himself wishing he did not have any kids - at all. He wished it was only him and Kagome, naked in a bed forever.

"Come on, better get dressed before they barge in here."

Her mother would stay downstairs but she had a feeling Kiyoshi and Kiyoko would not be as patient as their grandmother and they would run upstairs. She had managed to avoid their kids seeing them naked so far and she wanted to keep it that way. She moved away from Sesshomaru and jumped out of the bed. She grabbed the first pyjama she found laying around and quickly dressed herself. Sesshomaru was doing the same thing but at a much slower speed.

"You underestimate your kids. They get their speed from you, you know."

He smirked. "You wanted to stay with a youkai."

She shook her head, a smile on her face, as she finished putting on her shirt. Once she was dressed, she headed for the door. "Coming," she said, hoping it would slow down her kids.

Sesshomaru put on black dressed pants and a white shirt before joining her. Together, they made their way downstairs. They did not even have time to reach the end of the stairs that their children ran in their direction. Kiyoshi, the oldest, was faster and much taller than his little sister. He managed to make it to their parents first.

"Grandma let us make cookies with her and then uncle Souta played soccer with me."

Souta was still sort of living with their mother. He was often traveling the world, playing soccer professionally, as he had always wanted, and he never bothered to have an official residence since he was barely ever in Japan. Their mother did not seem to mind. After all, when Souta was not here, she was all alone and Kagome did not like that. Her grandfather passed a few years back and - it was a big shrine for one woman. Sesshomaru and her did the best to help when they could. The shrine was part of their family and Kagome did not want her mother to have to sell it. She wanted her children to have it when they were older.

"Mommy, Kiyoshi pushed me," Kiyoko said with a pout on her face and her arms crossed in front of her chest.

Her big brother was much bigger and stronger than she was. The both of them looked quite different. While Kiyoshi had his father's markings and normal ears, it was much different for Kiyoko. She had the same long ebony locks as her mother along with her father's amber eyes but - her face was void of any kind of markings. On top of that, her ears were much like her uncle Inuyasha's ears; puppy like. Obviously, they were hidden most of the time since she had to wear her special ring to go to kindergarden but when she was home, they were right there, on top of her head.

At first Sesshomaru and Kagome wondered why she was so different from Kiyoshi. But then they realized that her first pregnancy was very different from her second one. Including the bracelet that locked away her powers and everything else that happened during that not-so-wonderful adventure. They figured it affected his powers - though just like his sister he was in no way a full youkai.

"Kiyoshi, be nice to your sister."

Kiyoshi frowned. "She kept trying to steal the ball when me and uncle Souta were playing!"

"Your sister wanted to play too."

"But - Souta was playing with me."

"And you sister is allowed to play as well," Sesshomaru added with a serious tone.

Sesshomaru was a serious child that did not really play - all he tried to do was be as strong as his father. Obviously, he was kind of happy that his children did not turn out like him. However, he did not think his kids would remind him so much of his brother. All things considered, it was not a bad thing. He was glad that they had some sort of memories of him and that he could live through his kid. It was hard not to see Inuyasha when he looked at his daughter. And Kagome seemed happy about that. They often talked about him with their children and they visited his grave at the shrine.

"You know, why don't you two go in the kitchen and we will have pancakes?"

"Pancakes!"

"Oh! Mom can Shou and Takuya come over for breakfast?"

"I'll ask Uncle Kouga."

"Yay!"

Before Kagome could even blink, her children were running in direction of the kitchen. At least there was one thing her kids could agree on. Food. Boy did that remind her of someone.

"Thanks for watching them," Kagome said as she looked at her mother.

"I love spending time with my grandchildren."

She knew it could be hard to be a couple while you had kids running around. Since she lived so close by it was easy for her to pick them up and enjoy a day or two with them. Plus, the shrine was quite empty nowadays and it was nice to fill with laughters and joy. It kept her young to run around with the kids and she loved cooking big meals. It was harder to have such a passion when she lived all by herself. Kagome and Sesshomaru had offered her to live with them but she turned them down. She was still able to take care of the shrine. There was no need for her to impose on them.

"Do you wanna stay for breakfast?"

"I'm okay, I have things to do at the shrine."

"Are you sure?"

Miyu nodded. "Absolutely." She brought her daughter into a hug.

"If you need anything again, let me know," Miyu said as she waved at her daughter and Sesshomaru.

"Thank you, Miyu."

His relationship with his mother in law was better than ever. Kagome and him waited a while before getting married since they wanted to make sure Miyu was comfortable with their situation and the way they were progressing. They wanted her at their wedding and they wanted her to be happy for them. When they finally had it, she was the first one to jump in and prepare everything. She was truly happy for them and Sesshomaru and her learned to have a good, healthy relationship.

Once Miyu left, Sesshomaru came up behind Kagome and wrapped his arms around her waist, then he rested his head on top of hers. "Do we really have to have Kouga over?"

Kagome laughed. "Yes. Your kids happen to love his kids."

Kai and Kouga ended up getting mated. Not too long after that, Kai gave birth to twin boys. Obviously, Kagome insisted that their kids be the best of friends. And that was how Kouga and Kai became uncle Kouga and aunt Kai. It was not the worst thing in the world since their children were able to have friends that were like them which was a change from all the human friends they had at their school. It helped them be more normal and it helped them accept who they were.

It was difficult being youkais in this world and they tried to give them a normal environment. Plus, all they had was normal grandmother. His mother had not showed up again, most likely because for the last few years, Kagome and him proved her wrong over and over again.

Despite the jewel that hid inside Kagome's body they managed to have a normal, happy life. Kagome no longer felt the darkness from within it and she was slowly able to purify it. It did not cancel the terrible wish his mother made but it did help her forget that it was even there in the first place. The rest did not worry them. After all, they knew they made each other happy and ever since they added another child in their lives, they could not be happier. They had the life they always wanted. Nobody could take it away from them.

"I love you," she whispered as she leaned into his hold.

"I love you too."

"You know… maybe… maybe uncle Kouga is gonna want to take the kids out to the park."

"Why would you want him to -" His eyes widened. "Oh."

"You're getting a little slow," she teased.

"You know, I believe you are right. We should definitively have Kouga and his kids over for breakfast. It is a great idea."

She shook her head, clearly amused. "Pervert."

"You married me."

"That I did."

She covered his hands with hers, her smile never fading. This was perfect. A few years back, she worried that all of it would be taken from her, she worried she might even die. Now, she felt foolish for even thinking that somebody could take it all away from her. She was responsible for her own happiness and she intended on staying happy for the rest of her life. Jewel be damned, his mother be damned. The woman failed and now Kagome had a happy family with two wonderful children.

Years ago, when she used to travel in the past, when Sesshomaru first mated her, she never thought her life would end up like this. She never even though she would know what happiness was. Now, she was glad she had them all in her life. The worst thing in the world happened to her and it became the best thing she could have ever hoped for - and it was real. It was hers. He was hers. All of it was nothing more than a bad memory, the stepping stone they used to build the life they now had.

She was no longer stained by the horror, the blood from the past. She was free. She was happy.

"I believe we should join them before they turn the kitchen upside down."

"Just one more second," she said as she freed herself from his hold. She turned around and grabbed his face with both of her hands and gently gazed into his eyes. "Thank you."

"For what?"

"For everything. For being my mate, my husband and the father of my children."

He felt his heart stopped beating. "Kagome, you are the one who changed my life, you changed who I was and you gave me more than I could have ever hoped for - I have this life because of you. I do not deserve it."

He always did that, he always made her feel like she was the special one.

"You know, we should hurry and call Kouga, you're right."

He smirked at her. "I am not the only one who is a pervert."

"I do have to thank you for being so sweet."

She let go of him and gave him one last smile before joining their children in the kitchen. He stayed there, not moving an inch, and he observed her as she walked away. He could not tear his eyes off of her. Some mornings, he had to pinch himself to make sure that this was reality and not a dream. Kami knew he had a lot of illusion like dreams in the past.

But not, this was real, this was his life.

Kagome and him were finally happy and nothing would ever change that.

-The End-
