Len, the leaves are falling today.

Sapphire eyes looked at the autumn leaves. Gently and softly, they fluttered to the ground. Each leaf danced in the air with an array of color. Browns, oranges, yellows, and reds, all mixed wonderfully, making an autumn rainbow. The eyes were not showing any signs of amazement. They were hollow, lifeless, and blank. The light that used to shine in the eyes burned out many years ago. No longer did they sparkle or shine with enthusiasm.

A gentle voice came out of soft pink lips. "Len, the leaves are falling today. Aren't they beautiful?" The gentle voice did not match the hollowness of the eyes. The voice held a gloomy yet gentle tone while the eyes showed nothing. "They're falling as nicely as they did last year. It's very calming. I wish you could see it." The sapphire eyes closed and the lips curved, making a smile. Thin golden eyebrows bent inwards causing the smile to look cheerless. "But I guess you have prettier leaves up there. This is probably not nearly as stunning." Small feet stood near a tombstone, long awkward legs quivered, thin arms wrapped around slim shoulders, golden blonde hair climbed down a trembling back, and a melancholy face stared down. A girl. A sad girl.

A women's voice sounded in the distance, strong and firm like thunder. The girl looked behind her and sighed heavily. She turned back and gazed at the stone. "I have to go now Len. I'll see you tomorrow." With that, the girl walked away.

Behind her, golden leaves formed the small stature of a boy as they danced in the wind. 'Goodbye Rin,' it seemed to whisper.

The soft breeze carried to her ear and curled. She froze for a moment. Tears came to her hollow eyes and she knew that that would be the last time. A tear escaped and slowly crept down her face.

"Goodbye Len."
