Author's notes: Sorry I took so long to update! I hadn't realized that it had been over a year since my last update, especially since I started taking up my master's. How time flies by…. My gosh, I can't believe how long it's been since GG ended. As much as I hate the S3 ending, S4, and (especially) S5, I miss Chair. I miss LeightEd. T_T I need to invest more time into my writing and I promise to do more writing. Two chapters left! I promise the next chapter won't take too long! And then, I dunno, more Chair fics! XD

Three Words, Eight Letters: I told you

Blair let out a sigh as she put a hand on her back, shuffling her feet through the carpeted floor, planning on making her way downstairs to the kitchen to grab something to eat. But before she could step foot outside the room, Chuck appeared by the door, looking sternly at her with his arms crossed over his chest.
Blair was having none of it. "Move, Bass."
Chuck didn't budge. "I thought we agreed that further designing of the nursery would come _after_ we learned the sex of the baby."
Blair rolled her eyes. "How can I forget? We have it in signing."
It was actually Blair who insisted that they have the promise in written form. Ironically, she was the one caught in the act of a breech of contract. Oh well. She'd only done it so he would be rest assured enough to back off and let his guard down, allowing her to proceed in peace with the planning and design of the nursery.
"So what are you doing here?"
Blair crossed her arms over her bulging baby belly. "What? I can't come to the nursery every now and then? I like how cozy it is. I'm nesting."
Chuck raised an eyebrow and looked behind her, past her shoulder, and made a quick scan. "Could you refresh my memory of when and where we purchased that baby blue fleece blanket and that lavender pillow with Bass embroidered on it?"
Drat. He noticed. Blair was hoping he wouldn't see all the little additions of decor that she'd been smuggling into this room while he was at work, busy in his office at Bass Industries.
Chuck frowned in confusion as he regarded one object in particular, placed atop a sidetable. He sidestepped Blair to approach the pink bug-like object with mint green accents outlining its wings and antennae so he could better inspect it on a nearer angle. "Is this a ladybug?"
"It's a butterfly!" Blair huffed indignantly, though she herself, upon first glance, doubted that the gadget vaguely resembled the sacred species that symbolized their love. "It's called a Summer Infant Slumber Buddy Butterfly [1]. It's supposed to calm our baby to help him sleep. It projects a star and moon nightlight display in three colors. It's got three lullabies, two nature sounds, plus a heartbeat sound too with a thirty-minute shut-off."
"I see." Now he knew which was her latest secret purchase. He approved of the specs, although he had his doubts about the design. "It looks more like a ladybug."
"It's staying in this room!"
Chuck turned to her, his eyebrows raised. Nothing made Blair cave more than silence.
"It's gender neutral!"
"Blair."
That did it. Blair finally caved. "Oh shut it, Chuck. We both know we're having a boy. Bass men have boys."
"Waldorf women have girls." Chuck insisted.
"You're getting in the way of our baby's nursery. He'll be here before you know it and the nursery might still not be complete and ready for him!"
"Unless you're going into premature labor, she will give us enough time to prepare her nursery and stuff it with everything an infant could and would ever want."
"Ugh, you're hopeless." Blair welt out a deep sigh as her eyes rolled to the ceiling. Two weeks ago when Chuck put a halt into the nursery design and everything regarding the purchase of things for the baby until they found out the gender, Blair was not happy. Neither of them would budge, until Nate suggested that they have a go at rock-paper-scissors, and the winner would make the terms. Blair thought it was idiotic, but the Basstard goaded her with a challenge. Not one to back down, her competitive streak took over. She lost and he had their agreement in signing.
But anyone who knew Blair Waldorf should know that even if she agreed on compromise, if she really wanted something, she would find an underhanded way. That was determination and perseverance for Blair Waldorf.
Chuck only smirked at his pregnant fiancée. "You love me."
Blair's eyes narrowed at him. "Thank you for reminding me at times when I forget it or question it."
Chuck's smirk only widened. "I love you too." He kissed her cheek. "You won't have to wait long until you can go baby shopping to your credit card's content because our appointment is this afternoon."
"The doctor will finally confirm this Bass boy and Bass Industries will finally have an heir apparent."
"Or the doctor will tell us that there will be one more Waldorf woman unleashed into the world, who can run Bass Industries too if she wants to."

"Congratulations, you're having a girl!" The doctor announced.
Even though she'd lost the bet, Blair couldn't help but feel happiness surge within her. She turned to Chuck and met his lips. When they parted Chuck leaned his forehead against hers.
"We're having a girl," he breathed out in wonder. "I love you so much."
She thought she saw Chuck's eyes tearful with unabashed joy, but then again, her eyes were also brimming with tears from the happiness of the news that they were having a daughter.
"We can finally start thinking of names," Blair's eyes shone with excitement. But before she could continue, Chuck had something to say.
"You want to name her Audrey or Holly, don't you?"
Blair looked to her fiancé, and with the dry expression he was wearing, Blair knew he wasn't enthusiastic with those names.
"We've still got a few more months until the deadline, and several thousand options that might be better for consideration before settling. Let's not get ahead of ourselves." Pressing an affectionate kiss on her temple, Chuck made a mental note to go with Blair to a bookstore after their appointment so they could buy some baby names books.
"What's wrong with Audrey or Holly? They are classic, elegant names!"
"I know Breakfast at Tiffany's is your all-time favorite, but do you really want to tell our daughter that you named her after an escort with a gold-digging tendency?"
Blair fell silent for a moment, her eyes widening and her jaw dropping as he spoke his thoughts about her favorite fictional character. She composed herself and cleared her throat. "Point taken, but Audrey is still a good choice!"
"That's up for negotiation."
The doctor came in at that moment to hand them their sonogram pictures, a few pieces of advice, and another congratulations before sending them off home.
As they walked through the hospital corridors, Blair held the sonogram in her hands as Chuck held her tightly to his side. Both their eyes were shining with delight at their baby girl, and their smiles stretched their cheeks, making the already alluring features of the expectant parents even more beatific with the halo of resplendent happiness surrounding them.
The limo was already at the hospital entrance. Arthur rushed to open the door for his employers.
"So is it a girl or a boy, Mr. Bass?" The chauffeur's curiosity got the best of him, and though he felt he was stepping out of line, he just had to ask.
Chuck helped Blair settle in before he clapped his trusted chauffeur. He didn't know his smile could wide further. "I knew we were having a girl," The pride was evident from his proclamation. Arthur presented Chuck with the second congratulations they received that day before he got into the limo and the chauffeur got to the front to drive. He sent a quick text to Dorota, who had commissioned him to try to find out the sex of the Bass baby just after the appointment. His mission was accomplished.
Meanwhile, at the back, with the partition held up, Chuck and Blair were exchanging small, tender kisses. Their lips pulled away, but Chuck held her tighter and placed a hand on top of her baby bump, unconsciously caressing as they both stared once again at the sonogram of their baby girl.
"I need to go shopping with Serena for baby headbands!" Blair squealed in excitement. "Oh, we are so going to need to scour every boutique there is and I'm going to ask my mother for custom-made headbands."
Chuck placed a kiss on her shoulder. "What are you going to do about the hidden set of mini bowties you purchased?"
"I'll save that for when we have a boy."
Blair turned to Chuck once more, and holding her other hand to his cheek, she kissed him gain.
"I love you," Chuck whispered lovingly and reverently against her lips.
"I love you too, Bass," Blair returned and continued with the kisses.
When they pulled away, a smirk suddenly made its way to the Basstard's lips, and Blair just knew.
"Three words, eight letters, Blair."
Blair gritted her teeth and reminded herself that she was pregnant with his spawn and if she murdered him, she would go to jail and her baby would end up parentless, because one thing Blair would not stand for, was being proven wrong. "Don't even think about it, Bass."
"I told you."
Damn smug Basstard.

[1] Summer Infant Slumber Buddy Butterfly: It's a real thingamajig that I found on the net. I think it's great, though the design isn't really that cute? But that's just my opinion. But the product got great reviews. I like the moon and stars nightlight. I'm 25, but I actually want it in my room. HeheXD If you want to check out the baby gadget, you can look for it at .uk. I think it would make a great present for a baby shower. HahaXD
