Garfield Quickie-Three Things

One night, Garfield and Arlene were up on the fence on a date. After five minutes of silence, Garfield spoke up.

"Arlene," he started. "Whenever we see each other, there are three things I notice the most about you."

Arlene's eyes lit up. "Really?" she asked eagerly. "What are they?"

Garfield smiled and wrapped his arm around her skinny waist. "Well besides from the moonlight reflecting of you like a mirror," he said. "I notice your soft pink fur, your ruby red lips…"

Arlene's spirits soared as she started to smile showing the gap between her front teeth.

"…and that big wide gap between your teeth." Garfield finished.

After she heard those words, Arlene's smile immediately dropped from her face and a frown took its place. But after some split-second thinking, the frown disappeared and a small but visible smile crept through.

"You know Garfield," Arlene started. "I noticed three things about you too,"

"Oh really," he asked with a smirk. "What are they?"

The smirk grew wider on Arlene's face. "Your bright orange fur glowing in the moonlight," she said "that handsome smile of yours…"

She then raised a foot and swiftly kicked Garfield off the fence. The next thing the fat cat knew he was on the ground on his back.

" ...And the fact that you crack insults about the gap between my teeth when you get the chance!" Arlene finished as she walked off.

Garfield regained himself, looked at the pink feline trotting away from him, and asked himself:

"What did I say?"
