A/n: over the years that I have been working on this fanfiction a few people have brought the fact that Kyouya seems OOC to my attention in the reviews. Kyouya is my favourite character (as you can see from the multiple stories I have wrote about him) and the reason I write him the way I do is because it's my own personal take on what he might be like when he's in love, as we never see it fully in either the anime or the manga. Sure, it might have been hinted at in the manga that he might have been in love with Tamaki and/or Haruhi, but it was never confirmed to my knowledge. I'm only amping up his feelings in this story because its really the only thing furthering the plot (as I never do plan out these things. I actually have no idea how I'm going to end this). I imagine him in love in two different ways, and this is the nicer version. I'm exploring my other theory of the way he loves in my other story, which is going to be a bit darker and he's going to be an asshole over there (l o l). But for this story, he's really mushy, isn't he? Maybe love is what breaks down his cold exterior and melts it away. Who knows. It's fanfiction. –zurla

"Oh wow."

Violet stared at Klaus who slowly sipped at his tea. He just told her the events that happened that day, and was strangely calm about it.

Violet looked at his tea plate and back to him, "What did Haruhi say?"

Klaus shrugged and placed the teacup down on his plate, "I don't know, I couldn't find her after the incident. I texted her and she said she was alright, but that was it. Doesn't give much to go off of though."

Violet rubbed her temples and looked at her own tea, "I guess things are going to be a bit awkward at the club now."

Klaus shook his head, "Not for you." He paused and then nodded a bit, "Definitely for me, but you have nothing to worry about. It's ok." He brought his tea to his lips, "I think I've had enough hostly activities for this school year."

Sunny walked in the kitchen and opened up the fridge, her snake following diligently behind her. She grabbed a juice box and climbed onto a chair next to Klaus. She smiled, "Hello."

Violet smiled back, "Hello Sunny, how are you today?"

"I'm good thank you." She put the juice box in her mouth and sipped, looking back and forth from Klaus to Violet.

Klaus grinned, "At least Sunny is having a good day today."

Sunny furrowed her brows, "What's wrong?"

Klaus pinched her cheek, "Oh nothing. Just some high school drama. Nothing more, nothing less."

Klaus continued to talk to Sunny about her day and Violet sat there, not really listening. She wondered if this newfound complication Klaus had with the host club would actually effect how they viewed her family. While she did agree that some of the stuff they do is questionable and even sometimes uncomfortable, she still had made friends that she would like to keep among them. Things like this that are left undealt with tend to fester into something more devious than it needs to be.

She got up to go to her room, telling the other two that she had homework she would like to get caught up on.

As she sat in her room, staring blankly at the pages of her history book, she wondered if she should try to smooth things over, for her brother's sake. She was sure we wouldn't want her to do that so openly as she felt the confrontation needed to be, so she decided not to tell him.

She rarely kept secrets from her brother.

She felt kind of guilty.

But it was well intentioned.

She bit her lip and played with the ribbon in her hair she realized she absent mindedly put in. She stood up straight and looked at the clock. She decided to go down to the garage and tinker a bit. She needed to clear her mind.

The next day came. Klaus claimed he was ill with a sudden case of nausea, and decided to stay home for the day after some pressure from their adoptive mother. Neko was all over him, offering home remedies from her garden and a cold towel throughout the morning, and Violet was sure it continued after she left for school.

The night before she knew she would have to start with Kyouya. After all if anyone could help she knew he would. He already had leads on where Beatrice was and he updated her daily, and she couldn't thank him enough. She trusted him the most out of the host club, and she knew she could approach him.

At least she hoped he could.

She made it to school and entered her classroom, spotting Tamaki right away, surrounded by girls, as usual. Kyouya was seated next to him, typing away on his computer.

He didn't notice her walk in until Tamaki stopped talking and looked at her. The sudden stop of his chatter made it obvious something was up, and his company surrounding him, including Kyouya, looked in her direction.

She looked away quickly, making sure not to make eye contact. She had no idea what they would react to her presence, and she hoped it would be civil. She didn't stir anything up, after all, but she still would stand by her brother.

Tamaki smiled a bit and excused himself from his small party and sat down, while Kyouya got up and started making his way over. The girls surrounding them noticed right away of the sudden change in atmosphere and started murmuring amongst themselves, making the room feel a bit chilly in the span of ten seconds. Violet regained her composure and prepared herself a bit.

Violet sat there and brought out her notebooks, ignoring them the best she could until Kyouya approached her desk and stood in front of her. She looked up, smiled politely and said hello, glancing only for a split second at the clique in front of them. "How has your morning been?"

He let out a sigh and crossed his arms, "Busy. I'm sure you know about the drama yesterday regarding your brother." He turned his head to look at the back of the blondes head, which was busy looking down and writing down notes off the chalkboard.

Violet pressed her lips together and looked forward, not meeting his eyes. She didn't expect to be talking about this right away. She decided to be straightforward too. "Yes. And I'm going you let you know that I'm going to stand by him. He had a point-"

"Yes. He did."

She looked up at him, startled a bit to find him staring at her intensely.

He leaned back against the desk, "Everything he said was true. The only problem is that he said it so bluntly, it startled them. Maybe even angered." He shrugged, "If anything I think they should be more worried about Haruhi than anything else."

"Haruhi?"

"She did overhear his entire speech. As did I. We ran into each other and we both stopped to listen to him scold them." He shrugged, "She ran off before I could see her reaction. And I had things to do so I held off Tamaki's rants until it was over." He glanced around and then took a few papers out of the inside of his jacket, slipping them onto her desk discretely.

Violet paused then slipped them into her books quickly. She looked at him, "What is it?"

"The things I had to do. I'll talk to you after." He got up and made his way back to his desk. He sat down next to Tamaki just as the teacher walked in.

Everyone started to take their seats, still glancing at her curiously, and some almost maliciously, as they shuffled around.

Violet sunk a little bit in her seat and took out her papers to write down notes. She stuck her hand in her pocket and fiddled around with her ribbon, thinking she needed to distract herself again.

Instead she shook her head and turned to page 245.

A few hours later, when the bell rang for lunch, she figured she would make her way to the garden. "That sounds peaceful." She thought to herself, taking her lunch out of her bag. She made her way outside the class and almost immediately ran into a short brown headed figure.

"Haruhi! Oh, I'm sorry."

"No, no, it's fine. I was looking for you." She stepped back and fixed her blazer. She looked at Violet and then hunched her shoulder a bit, "Um. Is Klaus here today?"

"No, he got sick this morning. Neko forced him to stay home today." Violet looked at her and around, spotting Tamaki was still pre-occupied with his small group, and stepped a little closer, "Are you okay today?" She noticed Haruhi get a bit startled and she quickly whispered, "I heard what happened yesterday. Is everything going okay?"

Haruhi laughed a bit and then rubbed her neck, "Well, I guess. I didn't talk to the twins much. They didn't seem like their usual selves." She opened and closed her mouth. "They… They usually get over this sort of thing within a few hours."

Violet pursed her lips. She saw how uncomfortable she was with this situation. She looked down and noticed she had her lunch in hand also. She pointed at it and lifted hers up, "Do you want to eat together today?"

Haruhi looked at her and then behind her. Violet followed her eyes and immediately made eye contact with Tamaki, who was staring at the both of them.

"Yeah." Haruhi looked away quickly.

They both made their way down to the garden, and Violet briefly thought about the fact that the host club would probably try to spy on them. She chuckled at the thought.

"The host club…" She started. She closed her eyes and shook her head, "They're… quite childish, are they not?"

Haruhi let out a sigh, "They most definitely are. They're probably spying on us right now."

Violet laughed, "I was just thinking that."

They found a nice little shaded gazebo and sat down. Haruhi placed her small bag on the table and started to unwrap her bento.

"This… This whole thing has been weird. It's not unlike anything I've encountered with the host club before, but they seem to be reacting much more strangely than other times. They're not as dramatic and, I don't know, loud as they usually are." She stared down at her food, "I can't put my finger on it. They're acting a bit like…" She snapped her fingers, "The time we went to the beach. It was mostly Tamaki who was upset. And they were upset by me." She shook her head, "I was in the wrong, however." She paused and then nodded, "And I was immature about it. But they got this serious vibe to them about it, that they're showcasing now. It's not really towards me, but it revolves around me, because of what Klaus said." She paused and sighed, putting her head in her hands, "If I just hadn't gotten mad then Klaus wouldn't have said that- they wouldn't have to feel the need to- Or get angry or-"She groaned and smacked her head against the table. "I should have just kept quiet."

"Hey." Violet put her hand on her shoulder, "This really isn't your fault. You were just standing up for yourself. The twins and Tamaki are nice. So nice. But," She sat back, "They really don't know how to react to their own flaws when confronted. Especially by someone like Klaus."

Haruhi turned her head to look at her.

Violet took her water bottle into her hands, "Klaus is a person, a male person, who comes from the outside. He and you, you guys are both on the same level. Similar. And they see that, even if it might be subconsciously. He reflects what you think, and when he put that in words that weren't made out of exasperation that you would usually give, only because you wait until the final straw before you say anything, it's sort of a wake up call." Violet stared at her hands before shaking her head, "At least, that's what I think. I feel I don't know them well enough to really see this side of them."

Except Kyouya.

She closed her eyes.

Haruhi looked at her and then sat up. A few girls walked by, spotted them, then walked a bit faster, whispering amongst themselves. She sighed.

"There are going to be questions."

"There always are, it seems." Violet murmured, "I'm surprised I haven't gotten cornered yet from all this special time I've been getting with you guys."

Haruhi chuckled, "You probably will be soon. But Kyouya has your back." She smiled at her.

Violet smiled. "He does."

Haruhi rested her head on her fist and watched her. She opened her mouth to ask about the smile, but she closed it. She opened it again after a second, "But what you said, I think you're right. I haven't really made friends outside the host club a lot since I got here. Well, close friends. You guys are really the first, and, even after all of the stuff I went through with them, they might still not be ready to share me-" She closed her eyes, "Wow, now that I say that out loud, it sounds kind of weird-"

"But true."

Haruhi met her eyes. "True."

Violet took a sip of her water. "The best we could do right now, is wait for them to realize their mistakes."

"Who knows how long that will take." Haruhi whispered.

They both sat in silence for a moment letting the realization of the situation sink in, before Violet said, "Let's hope it's before three o'clock today."

A/N: I'm starting to get a sense of where the plot is going. Sorry it took so long lol.
