Can the Cliché

If this was some kind of crazy chick flick, Kurt would know what role to play.

As the gay, stylish BFF, he would totally give Mercedes the makeover of a lifetime that would help boost her self-esteem and hook her the man of her dreams. But Mercedes already has a style of her own, and Kurt can't find a guy for himself, much less for someone as fabulous as Mercedes. Maybe that's why he's not surprised when Mercedes manages to further invert the stereotype and arranges for him to go out with a cousin of hers.

Three hours before Dushane is to pick him up, she arrives at his house to help him prepare. She quickly deals with his wardrobe crisis (Armani is always the right choice), before handing him a couple of crackers to eat to make sure he doesn't pass out from hunger, since he hasn't eaten all day. He holds perfectly still as she carefully applies a bit of eyeliner to his face, offering advice on how to kiss a guy.

Despite her happiness at his company, he can't help but feel a bit guilty. Mercedes had liked him, liked him, and that doesn't just go away because she knows he is gay. He wonders how much it hurts her to do this for him.

Finally she pronounces herself satisfied with his appearance. Staring into the mirror, Kurt realizes that Mercedes has found her calling as a faghag. He looks hot, and if he really wants to, he can end the night thoroughly ravished. No man is going to be able to resist him.

But before that happens, he needs to thank Mercedes for caring about him. Guys may come and go, but friendship can be forever. He smiles at her and leans forward, pressing his lips to hers gently before pulling away.

"Thank you," he murmurs, and her smile is both sad and sweet.

It's his first kiss. It's best to give it to someone who will always matter to him.
