Smahlt's Fault

This was it.. this was the day he was going to tell Arra Sails his true feelings. Although she showed that she hated him, deep down Kurda knew that she felt things for him too. He walked through the corridors, searching for her. Surprisingly, she wasn't in her usual hangout. Everyone knows how much Arra enjoys battling other Vampires on the railings. She was the best of all who stepped up to the challenge. He didn't know what it was about her. Was it her hair? Her strength? Her agility? Or was it just because she was a female vampire? He couldn't tell but whatever it was, he couldn't stop thinking about her. He even tried human things like meditation and yoga but that only made him so bored that he only had thoughts of her in his head.

Maybe it was love, maybe it was an infatuation, he couldn't be too sure. All he wanted right now was to hold her in his arms and never let go. He forgot all thoughts of the Vampaneze and his evil plot to take over the Vampires. No one understood him though... he only wanted to help. He was driven away so badly that he even considered going against the Vampires. He only wanted to help. He was just misunderstood. Kurda had one last hope. If he'd never laid eyes on Arra Sails, he would have ended his misery and perished in the sun. It was much better than stakes anyway.

He smiled happily. Arra Sails. The woman I want. He continued walking.. determined to win her over... but he had competition alright... Larten Crepsley. Kurda often followed the happy couple and saw Larten's true intentions. He also loved Arra and Kurda saw in her eyes that she felt the same. He had to beat him to it. In order for him to feel invincible, he needed love. Love was all he wanted and Kurda knew that Arra could fill that position.

Kurda continued searching and stopped when he heard giggling in the distance. It was a females tone so he knew exactly who it was. He smiled to himself and walked forward, confidant in his plans. The giggling grew louder and Kurda smirked to himself with satisfaction. She was hiding in a small cupboard with enough room for two. It was perfect. Kurda lifted up his sleeves and opened the door.

His smile dropped.

His face whitened.

This was totally and inevitably unexpected...

It was Arra in the cupboard, but she wasn't alone. It was none other than Larten Crepsley inside with her, giving her every passion Kurda desired with her. Kurda was furious, now he'd never get to be with her.

'What's done is done.' Kurda thought miserably.

'Maybe I can settle for a handshake...'

Author's Note:

I know it's really short, but I couldn't think of anything else to put. Poor Kurda..

Iv'e always seen these three in a love triangle and I just went with my instinct.

I hope you liked it!

P.S: Did you notice how the title rhymes?
