Baby Daddy: Chapter 4

Zane looked himself in the mirror, admiring how well he scrubbed up. Today was his birthday and it was going to be a good day. Lunch with his little brother, a quick coffee with his parents and then a date with his wonderful woman. This woman was someone special to him in so many ways. The only woman he ever gave himself too, the one woman he could never walk away from. But today he was hoping that everything that had happened between them would lead to a yes to tonight's question.

Jaden smiled as he watched Jesse and Koyo play baseball in the open space. It had been a week since Koyo met Jesse for the first time and everything was going perfect. Although Jaden was still curious as to why Jesse had not brought Alexis on this beautiful day. School had ended and Koyo had started to ask about staying at his daddy's house but without meeting Alexis, Jaden didn't feel comfortable about it.

Koyo ran up to Jaden jumping on his lap. "Papa come and play with us!" He demanded.

"You know I am not that good at baseball," Jaden laughed ruffling Koyo's hair.

Jesse walked over, clearly out of breathe chasing after Koyo. "How about we go get some ice cream then?" He suggested. Jaden blushed as he nodded. One week since Jesse came into Koyo's life and one week since Jaden began to fall for Jesse all over again. "Alright. What flavour do you like?"

"Vanilla!" Koyo replied. "I can toppings then!"

Jesse laughed at Koyo. He loved being a father. Even if it was had only been a week it was still a wonderful feeling. It was a mini him he would always love but that was a problem. Alexis wouldn't bare the truth if she found out that one, he slept with Jaden and two he had a child, something she couldn't have.

"Is it a sprinkle day with the vanilla ice cream?" Jaden asked knowing that was Koyo treat whenever he did well in school. Koyo nodded as he pulled Jaden up from the bench. "Alright then let's get going." Jaden faced Jesse, letting him know he was ready to go. Things didn't seem awkward between them, but they both knew that soon things were going to get problematic.

Syrus, surprisingly knowing that Atticus and Alexis were in town, invited them to a surprise lunch for Zane's birthday where they even brought balloons for the table. Although the lunch was a nice surprise for Zane, he just wanted to get away. It was running late because he was due to meet his actual date. "So Zane how's your dating life?" Atticus asked.

"Do you want me to be honest?" Zane asked, earning a nod from his company. If he wasn't honest then he wouldn't get out of here. "I'm actually due to meet a girl in about 10 minutes."

Alexis smiled warmly. "That's great," She said grabbing Zane's hand. "But why are you here?"

"I thought it was just me and Syrus. " Atticus laughed nervously he didn't expect his best friend in the Academy would hide a new girlfriend from him. "I'm sorry about this but I've been excited to see her for a while."

"How long have the two of you been seeing each other?" Syrus asked confused that Zane had just recently broke up with another girlfriend after finding out she cheated on him.

"Well I might tell you another time," Zane smirked as he stood up putting his jacket on. He wasn't going to say another word about this woman because they wouldn't understand. "Thanks for the food I'll see you at the wedding I guess, Alexis."

"Yes, you are coming then aren't you?" Alexis needed her friends there on her biggest day. "How about as an apology I drop you off?"

Zane had to think for a moment, could he risk Alexis knowing about this woman? He simply nodded as Alexis was most likely the only one who could keep a secret. "Alright then let's get going."

Sat in the café next to ice cream shop was Aster and Emiko, currently in a deep conversation about future career paths practically Emiko's. "So how is the school feeling about you leaving?" Aster asked as he sipped his coffee.

"They are nervous but I am happy to be joining your company," Emiko grinned. "I can't wait to get back into duelling. It has been over five years and Jaden doesn't need me anymore."

Aster nodded in agreement. His sponsor where hiring new duellists and when he heard Emiko was wanting to get back into duelling he immediately gave them her number. She was yet to break the news to the others but everything seemed right for her in this time of her life. "It's amazing how much you grew up. Breaking up with Zane and helping Jaden raising a son was the best thing for you," Aster laughed grabbing a biscuit from the small bowl placed in the centre of the table. A sharp pain ran through his knee causing it to knock the table.

"We agreed that wasn't going to be brought up anymore," Emiko snapped. "I was happy with Zane, even when he went through a phase, which may I add me and you were once a part of the Society of light. Things happened and it's the past now. End of story!"

"Sorry I forgot," Aster's voice was low with embarrassment. He looked up at the clock, realising that their meeting had run over the time Emiko wanted.

Emiko looked in the same direction, cursing every word she knew. She was always running late like this. Although as a teacher not once as she late. Some things just shouldn't change though. "Thank goodness the docks are down the road!" She yelled throwing her things in the bag before throwing the rest of her tea down her throat. "See you Monday Aster!"

Koyo sat swinging his legs on the chair, happy as Jesse placed his ice cream sundae on the table. Jaden patted his head as he took the first chilling bite. Koyo's face said it all, he loved the ice cream. "So Jaden, I never got an answer if you wanted to come to my wedding?" Jesse asked nervously. Jaden looked at Koyo with worrying eyes. What would he do about Koyo, take him to his daddy's wedding? That didn't seem right. "It's the 21st of this month."

Jaden's eye's widened. "I can't that's Koyo's birthday," Jaden replied frantically. "It's his 10th birthday!"

"Oh my!" Jesse gasped. His son's birthday was on his wedding day. Either that was an amazing coincidence or sheer bad luck.

"Jesse!" Jesse and Jaden knew that voice. Alexis! "What's going on?" Behind her stood Zane terrified about what was going to happen. By the sound of it Jesse did not tell Alexis about Koyo or that he was meeting Jaden.

"Alexis I can explain!" Jesse exclaimed.

"Who's this daddy?" Koyo asked tugging on Jesse shirt.

"Daddy?" Alexis gasped, tears forming in her eyes. "When the hell did you have a child!? And with who?" Her gaze turned to Jaden. This child looked just like him. You could see the similarity in their eyes. Her tears turned to anger as she slapped Jesse. Jaden stood up with Koyo holding his hand. "How could you not tell me? You expect me to marry you now! We've been trying for a child for three years."

Zane grabbed Alexis' arms holding her away from Jesse. "I didn't know myself. Please listen to me!" Jesse begged.

Meanwhile Koyo had let go of Jaden's hand and was covering his ears. He didn't want to hear the shouting. Many people had begun to stop and stare and it was becoming too much for Koyo to handle. He began to run. It was straight into the road! Jaden stopped like a deer in the headlights when he heard a crash. "Koyo!" He screamed.

The man driving the car jumped out. He could see the boy named Koyo was lying down on the path. Instead he had hit a woman. Long brunette hair with a blonde streak.

Zane pushed Alexis away from him and ran to the woman. "Emiko!" He cried falling next to her limp body. "Someone call for help. Now!"

Jaden ran to Koyo picking him up and holding him to his chest as not to look. "Don't ever do that again!" He cried not wanting to let go.

Alexis has a phone to her ear as she stood next to Zane as he sat trembling not knowing whether to touch Emiko's body. Jesse has gone over to Jaden to ensure that Koyo was alright. Jaden looked at him scream to stay away from HIS child. This was a reason he didn't want Jesse to come back into his life. To come into Koyo's life. Jaden wishes he had never showed up and that he had stayed in Europe.

You may have noticed Emiko had replaced my old character of Emily as I've changed over the years and so has she. Same character but new name and a bit more development.
