I'm supposed to be writing an essay on how crime is social control, but I got my new John Mayer album yesterday, and 'Assassin' kind of inspired me.
Please be kind.
I was a killer, the best they'd ever seen.
I'd take your heart before you ever heard a thing.
I'm an assassin and I had a job to do.
How many hearts had he broken before he went there. He'd lost lost count. They didn't matter. No one did. Not until her. Blue eyes and books had drawn him in. But no matter how much he wanted to stay, that was never Jess Mariano's M.O.
So he left. Once, twice, three time's a charm. But he continued to come back and leave, taking a piece of her heart with him everytime.
And then, suddenly on the streets of brotherly love, he was faced with what he had done.
He turns it around, and then finds her once again.
She's altered too. No school, just functions and a jerk with a Porsche. They're both nervous, both changed, and once again he leaves. She's not the girl she once was.
And then she comes to him. Blue eyes and books, and it's everything he has ever wanted. She's fixed.
Or so he thought.
She left and he's left brokenhearted.
Little did I know that girl was an assassin too.
