So, this is just a drabble I thought of in the middle of a walk. Yeah, it's depressing, there is a reason why I labeled it, "Angst". Hope you like it!

(NO POV –Takes place near the riverbed they 'first met' (After Dream Team Japan…Summer?)-)

Shin Seijuro knew what love is, he read it in books. Sakuraba and Takami had also taught him what love is. So he was certain.

He loved Kobayakawa Sena, A.K.A. 'Eyeshield 21'. And he had to get him before another person does.

He had finally had gotten the boy by himself, on a jog. "Sena!" he called, a small smile spread on his face. The small brunette looked up to the linebacker.

"Shin-san?" Sena questioned, cocking his head to the side. Shin-san is in a really good mood...

Shin's face dropped to his usual stoic face. He knew what part this was in a book. The part where character one confessed to character two. Then, character two agrees with a blush on his face and they live happily ever after. Step one, confess. Shin told himself and took a deep breath before looking directly in Sena's eyes. "Sena. I know this one person. The person is beautiful, he's kind and he always smiles. I can never stop thinking of him." He turned his attention back to the brown eyes. "That person…" he coughed, something was caught in his throat. "Is you…" The brown eyes grew, "Kobayakawa Sena, I love you." He was going to continue but something interrupted him.

"Shin-san." Sena said with a small smile, "It's not good for your health if you lie." His smile completely disappeared. "And the Shin-san that I know… He cares most about his body and health." Sena gulped and Shin looked surprise. "You shouldn't make jokes like that!" He began trembling and his voice was louder, "My heart isn't a toy!" It's not supposed to be like this… What happened to you… Sena? Shin was torn between worried, surprise, and his heart felt like it was torn. "At least to me…" Sean refused to look at Shin's face, he was trembling so badly.

"Sena." Shin tried, but failed miserably. It's not supposed to be like this… Shin gulped, he never heard of the feeling in his chest. It felt like it was burning and stabbing everything. It hurt so much…

"Shin-san! I won't hear it!" Sena covered his ears and continued trembling. "I won't let someone bring me up with words! Because…Because the higher you are, the harder you fall! And… And… And… you always fall!" Sena turned to run away but Shin grabbed his wrist.

"Sena, please. I love you." Shin tried, trying to soothe the younger boy.

"STOP!" Tears flowed smoothly down his face, and Shin stared at him, "You don't even love me… You love Eyeshield! That's not me…" Shin was torn apart.

"Sena, But you're Eyeshield 21, the one that is always in front of me… I can't forget someone like…" Shin never got to finish what he was gong to say.

"Then I'll disappear! And then… You'll forget me! And then… You'll live a better life!" Sena cried. Sena… Shin wasn't just torn apart, he was in so much pain, that nothing would compare it.

Sena broke out of his grip and ran. And, other than in games or in the news and television, Shin never saw Sena again.

So much for a perfect romance, huh?
