It was unexplainable, unnatural and completely unnecessary. But when Megatron first laid eyes on the weak, drop out, space bridge technicians' leader, he felt a deep and unsettling hatred for him.

It could be easily passed over as just the fact he was an Autobot(despicable hypocritical weaklings)but somehow it was deeper and ageless. Like he knew him and hated him for what he did(what did he do, anyways?)so much he wished to tear him piece by piece apart.

His goal was interrupted first by the bomb exploding on his back and then by them going through a space bridge to – who knows where.

He knew nothing for awhile after that, only waking up fifty stellar cycles later as just a head. And then finding out that it was Starscream's fault for his deactivation. Then finding that he had been used to create lesser drones by a Professor Isaac Sumdac(who was pathetically easy to manipulate, the fool)and setting a few spy bugs in the Autobots small, pathetic 'base'. And then he watch, waited and sometimes plotted his days away, until Sumdac was able to fix him.

And for some reason, he kept turning back to the young, naïve, untainted leader(Optimus Prime was it?)who just seemed to, no matter what, cause a deep hatred to root within him. He made a quick note to never use his name, for that caused his spark(wherever it was located)to fluxate in sheer agony.

After a bit, he got tired of it and dived into his memory banks to find out why he caused him such problems, without even trying.

The truth was unsettling; there was a gateway in his mind, that brought to him images of various(different)versions of him, all battling away at older, maturer versions of him. It made no sense, but at the same time did.

Optimus Prime will always, and always had been, his greatest enemy, the one who will bring him down.

And he hated that.

Not Prime, but the fact he was buttonholed into a position without his say so. He seethed at the fact he was just another pawn in a great universe spanning war, to be used for who know who's purpose.

And he vowed he would change that.

When he finally got free, he used Sumdac's talents to hack into the Elite Guard Database from Earth and looked up Optimus's history.

To his surprise this Optimus, the one he was dealing with, was just plain looked down, for a 'mission'(or just plain exploration)gone wrong. He was quick to see the connection between Elita-One and Blackarachnia – and interrogated her when he came across her by accident. She revealed what really happened that orbital cycle, then left.

He scowled. Optimus had covered for that arrogant, no good, slagger Sentinel – and got away with it. Sentinel never argued about it, and took advantage over his kindheartedness, rising him to be second to Ultra Magnus(the fool)and leaving Optimus stuck as a space bridge technician. Where he(of all mechs)found the All Spark and met Megatron himself – and lived.

Not matter the real reason behind it(Starscream's betrayal)he lived and thus he was – special.

Optimus was a victim of the system just as much as he was.

Squashing the hatred, he decided on a different course for them. He would make Optimus see things his way, and he would raise him up to be one of the greatest Decepticons ever.

The Autobots would rue the day they left Optimus hanging dry. Optimus, due to their abandonment, was his now.

Wow. Where did this come from? Honestly, something just popped into my head and here you have it. My first TFA fic. In fact my first Transformers fic ever! There are hints of MegOpt here, not balant, but there and mentions of a flawed Autobot society in here too. If you think I could make fic out this tell me! Or you could write one...either way, I'd love to write/read one based on this, so please drop a line and review!

Halloween treats for my reviewers!
