I don't own Johnny Storm, Ben Grimm, or NASA.
I met identical twins with crimson red hair and sapphire eyes. They grew excited when I told them about NASA, so I decided to give them a private tour.
I found it easy to sneak them inside the flight simulator room, due to my Commanding Officer being away.
They were engrossed by both the tales I told, and my future dreams of being an astronaut. Before I had a chance to sneak the twins back out though, I heard footsteps.
"Girls, you need to hide!"
They went inside a simulator, and I wondered who the visitor would be. Didn't expect that "Mr. Grumples", aka Ben Grimm, would be back so soon. He stared at me with piercing blue eyes. I averted my gaze and focused on the patches of brown hair along the sides and top of his head.
"Johnny Storm, what are you doing here?" he asked.
"Last time I checked, I'm still in astronaut training," I retorted. "Like it or not, I'm sticking around here 'til my program's completed."
"You're not scheduled to use a flight simulator today. Are you up to something?"
Getting him to leave is even more trickier than I thought it'd be.
"I'm not up to anything Ben. I just thought I'd spend some time with my babies, before doing my duties."
I guess the girls grew bored, and decided to have some fun or something. I never told them to push buttons though, or to move the joystick. Did they think it was a game?
"That's weird," Ben Grimm said. "No one's signed up to be here, yet one of the simulators activated just now."
Uh oh.
"Maybe I should take care of that…."
I had every intention of shutting down the machine, I swear! Each time I reached to touch something though, the twins would fiddle around more with the buttons and joystick. I dunno how the following happened, but the next thing I knew, the simulator became unhinged from the floor and flew towards a wall!
"What did you girls do?" I hissed, before looking at a very angry Ben Grimm.
"Johnathan Storm, you lied to me!"
"I can explain this, it's not what you think….."
Before I could continue, Ben had already left the room. NASA kicked me out of the program shortly afterwards.
When I looked for work, no one would interview me. One guy even hung up on me, once I revealed my name.
We may have had our differences, but I didn't think Ben hated me enough to black-ball me to all potential employers.
