[Author's Note: The Brave and the Bold, #149, revealed that Wonder Girl had a previously (and subsequently) unmentioned power: the ability to exactly imitate any voice after hearing it once. That was the germ of this "fish out of water" tale.]
"Hi, Garth! It's nice you could make it."
"Hi, Robin. Thanks."
"Garth's here, guys! The Teen Titans are now officially having our first party!"
"Yay!"
"Woohoo!"
"Um, Robin? I told Aquaman I was coming to a meeting. I wasn't sure he'd give me permission to go to a party."
"So we'll call this a meeting, Garth. Relax. Donna just played her new Flips record."
"Who played her what?"
"Donna—that's me!"
"The only 'her' in the room, gillhead."
"I decided I don't have to be 'Wonder Girl' to my friends."
"Oh, right. I'm Garth."
"I know that, silly!"
"Oh, yeah."
"And I'm Wally! And arrow-boy is Roy."
"Hi, Wally. Roy. What about you, Robin?"
"For now I'm still Robin. But I'm talking it over with Batman."
"Man, you and Garth need to grow up! You're both still asking the old man for permission on everything!"
"Aquaman's not that old—"
"Come on, fishface, get with the dry-land lingo!"
"Be nice, Roy."
"I was just saying that these days I don't have to ask Green Arrow for anything."
"Maybe because he's never around?"
"He trusts me, shortpants!"
"Okay, okay. Garth, have you heard the latest Flips record?"
"No."
"How come? Don't you think they're the coolest?"
"Um. I don't have any records."
"What?"
"You're kidding!"
"How unround can you be?"
"Guys, think about it! They probably don't have record players underwater."
"I guess that makes sense, Robbie. I'll tell you what, Garth—I'll run home and bring my whole Flips collection for you to listen to."
"Do you have to, fleetfoot? The Flips aren't that cool. Someday I'll put a band together, and then you'll see cool."
"Then we'll see some guy trying to drum with two arrows. Hang tight, I'll be back in a flash!"
"See you soon, Wally! . . . So, um, what else happens at a party?"
"Well, Donna could do some of her impressions."
"Impressions? What are—"
"Jeez, don't you get Ed Sullivan down in Atlantis? If Donna hears somebody's voice, she can imitate it exactly."
"Oh. I guess that could be fun."
"Show Garthy how it works, Donna—do him."
"Let me think what I've heard. Hmmm. 'Aquaman, we're trapped! We'll never make it!'"
"Hahahahahaha!"
"I don't sound like that!"
"You do, gillhead, you totally do!"
"Maybe sounds travel differently underwater."
"No, Robin, I don't say that!"
"Well, actually I've heard you—"
"We've all heard you. Hahahaha!"
"Oh, yeah? Donna, please do an 'impression' of Roy."
"Okay. 'Hey, dollface, I'm all a-quiver over you.'"
"HAHAHAHAHA!"
"That's different! See, Garth, that's not funny."
"Okay, I'm back! Did I miss anything?"
"'Just me shooting my mouth off. But all my best lines are landing off target.'"
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
"Really, it's not funny. . . . Everyone stop laughing. . . . I mean it."
