"Think carefully," Professor Oak said, "out of all the people, places and Pokemon you've encountered throughout your journey, who are you the most grateful to?"

There were so many. Professor Rowan, her mother, Cynthia, the Gym Leaders, even that odd fellow Looker who'd helped her get rid of Team Galactic. Mesprit, Azelf and Uxie. Giratina. Lucas.

But she never would have met any of them if not for one particular person.

"Barry," Dawn finally said. "I'm the most thankful to Barry, because without him I never would have taken this journey at all."

Suddenly, the stone tablet began to glow and white light filled the area. When it faded, every inch of the plateau was covered with flowers and the sun seemed brighter than it had been before. And then, a small Pokemon approached them, gave a few little squeaks and ran away.

"Oh? Professor Oak blinked. "What was that all about? That Pokemon...where is its destination?"

Marley, who had been standing silently by the whole time, shyly stepped forward.

"Because of that Pokemon...now, I can express my thanks to you, Dawn. ...Thank you...thank you so much."

"Oh..." Dawn smiled. "You're welcome!"

Professor Oak nodded.

"Dawn. I think you know what to do," he said, pointing to the path that had suddenly appeared. Dawn felt as if she were going to burst from the joy and excitement that suddenly filled her.

"Right!" She bowed to him, then to Marley, and took off down the path. The aroma of flowers enveloped her, spurring her on and making it hard to feel tired despite the path seeming to last forever. Finally, she found herself in a meadow like Floaroma's, but more magnificent.

Slowly, she approached the small Pokemon in the center of the topmost hill. Her Pokedex lit up, and the creature's name appeared on the screen.

"Hello, Shaymin," she said. "My name's Dawn. I'm very happy we were able to meet."
