"You know...I've been given to understand that friends who engage in sexual intercourse wind up in a state of discomfort afterwards."

"Sure."

"Why does it have to be that way? I mean...we were friends, but now we are more than friends. We're...in this yet to be named level of relationship. Why does one have to put a label on it, right?"

"Sheldon?"

"Yes, Penny?"

"We were barely even friends."

"Oh."

"Penny, since you have pointed out that we were barely even friends and yet have jumped into a higher degree of intimacy in our interpersonal relationship, are you saying then that you do not find the possible consequences of our earlier sexual encounter discomforting?"

"What?"
