A/N: Last chapter! I needed something light to finish with, hope you appreciate it, even though it's slightly out of character.

I'm very glad this story is finally finished. I had a real hard time with writing about Ziva since she left the show. I still mis her, even though I accepted Bishop - it's not the same without our crazy ninja chick. (I don't compare them by the way, it's no use since they are two completely different characters.) And now with Tony leaving too, I needed something with a happy ending! (Tonight I'm going to watch the season's finale)

A/N after watching: why can't the writers just for once give a leaving character a happy end?

13. Make It Work

McGee walked back from the toilets, ready to round the stairs, when he got pulled back by an arm on his shoulder. He turned quickly, facing Gibbs, who had a sparkle in his eyes and a finger on his lips. He nodded with his head towards the bullpen, and winked.

McGee looked to the bullpen himself, frowned, but gave Gibbs a nod. He didn't really see what Gibbs was planning, but apparently something should be going down soon enough.

Since when did Gibbs wink? And since when was he grinning as if he found the best joke ever? McGee just stood back and waited, next to Gibbs, about what was going to happen next.

They were looking at the bullpen, where Ziva and Tony had been busy with compiling a case against one of their suspects. 'Found something!' 'Me too!' They both looked up.

'Me first,' Ziva declared. Without missing a beat, she got up and walked to the big screen. 'Look, our perp received a million dollars in total, over three months' time,' she clicked and showed Tony the financial trail she had found.

'Ha, that's nothing. I found camera footage of our perp being at the right time at the right place. And look, he is wearing the baseball cap we've found on the scene!'

They looked at each other, arms folded, both not willing to stand down. 'That baseball cap can be bought anywhere in that area,' Ziva huffed. 'That money can be from a heritage, his grandmother died last year,' Tony bit back.

McGee rolled his eyes, not caring much for their antics. It was as if there hadn't changed a bit since he and Abby had left them to go dancing in the club. He was going to say something to Gibbs but saw his Boss looking intently at the duo. Tony looked around the completely empty bullpen. It wasn't strange it was empty: it was Monday evening, past ten o'clock. Ziva followed his gaze and they both smiled before they stepped forward and starting kissing hungrily. Tony's hand found his way to Ziva's bottom and he pulled her closer.

McGee stared at them for a second, and moved his shocked eyes to Gibbs, who was grinning like the Cheshire cat. Without comment he stepped forward and stopped next to the kissing couple.

'David. DiNozzo.' He said tersely. McGee started grinning when his two co-workers flew apart like they had been bitten by a snake, taking several steps away from each other. Ziva's hands flew to her face, not being able to compose herself. Tony tilted his head to the side and looked at his boss impassively.

'I thought I said no funny business?'

'We weren't, Ziva started, trying to find an excuse. 'Does it matter?' Tony said at the same time. 'I'm sorry Gibbs it won't happen again,' Ziva continued. Tony looked at her with a small frown before he smiled. He stepped toward her, pulled his arm around her shoulder and hold her tightly against him. 'It's okay Boss. We're dating. We'll keep it out of the office from now on,' he smiled proudly.

Gibbs stared them both down, Ziva looked up to Tony and back to Gibbs with a soft smile on her face. Tony simply smiled and looked happy.

'Good. Make it work,' Gibbs nodded after a few moments silence. He turned around and left the bullpen, feeling how McGee stared after him with open mouth. Nicely done, Jethro. He could swear he heard Jenny laughing proudly.
