Characters: Sensei, Katsura+Gintoki

Summary: "Sensei drops the ring of flowers on Gintoki's head." Utter stupidity thereafter occurs.

Setting: Gintoki's childhood (or as I love to call the era, the First Generation Natural-Perm Power Trio, since Gintoki, Katsura and Takasugi attended the same dojo)

A/N: I had the sudden urge to type out a childhood GinZura, and then had to add their Sensei into the situation.

A CROWN FOR THE FAIRY KING

Sensei drops the ring of flowers on Gintoki's head, where it nearly slips, clings at, and nestles cozily along the silver curls.

The boy immediately sits up from his sprawl against the trunk of the oak by the riverside, rubbing an eye needlessly before grabbing onto the fragile bunch with a fist.

"What's this?" asks Gintoki, with displeasure, peering down at the crushed buttercups in his hands doubtfully. "A flower hat?"

"It's called a 'crown of flowers,'" Sensei corrects him. "Zura made it for you. Because today's a special day, Gintoki."

He's supposed to say, crabbily, "What? What's today, Sensei?"

But instead, picking his nose, Gintoki says, "Zura made this? What is he, a girl?"

"IT'S NOT CROUCHING-MORON HIDDEN-TAMPONS, IT'S KATSURA!"

So as Zura promptly fly-kicks the boy in the balls, Sensei says, cheerily, "Happy birthday, Gintoki."
