Title: Cosplay Complex
Summary: In which Francis discovers the use of Kiku's no-longer-secret cosplay infatuation. (France/Japan)
Author's Note: Ahah. Fun. Another story done for the ten story Hetalia meme; four more to go if I'm not mistaken. This one was brought on by the Cosplay Complex - Cosplay Ondo song. It's a relatively overlooked pairing, and while I don't really ship it myself, I can just see him enjoying Kiku's cosplay fetish every bit as much as the black-haired nation himself does. It's as if it's all one big, long run-on sentence...omg. [dies] This one's short, too; I'm sorry.
Cosplay Complex
Admittedly, when the notion of cosplay was first thought up by Japan, France didn't quite understand the hype. What was so amusing about dressing up as a cat or a masked hero (and he hated to even think of the word itself because of its gross over-usage)? Life as the embodiment of a nation was eventful enough, or at least busy enough in any case, without the additional trouble of trying to look like someone you weren't and having everyone around you trying to "glomp" you more than they already tried to.
(And yes, it had taken him a while to figure out just what in God's name a glomp was, too. But to his credit, he got it faster than England. That was what mattered.)
Then came the day when the usually relatively punctual Kiku, late for the summit meeting because one of his conventions had run longer than originally planned, ran into the room dressed in the most suggestive and deliciously tantilizing maid's costume any of them had ever seen. (And in a few cases, ever hoped to see again.)
One half of a meeting, a room-beside-the-now-tainted-closet-beside-the-meeting-room full of disturbed and slightly traumatized nations, and two hours later, Francis had to admit that maybe there was something to that cosplay complex of Kiku's after all.
