I Do No Own Much, Don't Sue Please!

Edward was cold.

Which was an entirely new thing for him, seeing as how he was a vampire and could probably freeze water just by touching it. But she had this way of making him feel what she was feeling at that exact moment. Not that he minded 'cos that way he always knew what she wanted, when she wanted. So he laid there with her, waiting for the mutt to get there; her own personal heater.

'What was taking the damn dog so long!' It's not like he could've left her side, even if he wanted to, to go and fetch the fleabag himself. And that's when the smell hits him. "By bloody time! You'd think she wasn't the most important person to him." I grumbled softly. And almost as if she knew the shapeshifter was near, she sighed softly in her sleep and seemed to relax, even if just a fraction. The wolf padded into the room and then gently got onto the bed and snuggled close to her. 'What you grumbling about, leech?' Edward bristled at that and softly, so as not to disturb her, answered "Why'd you take so long mutt?" Edward narrowed his eyes as the wolf rolled his. 'The whole pack went for a run, just checking the land.' He could hear the amusement in Black's thoughts and glared. "It's not like we're going to be attacked anytime soon!" Edward replied disgruntled, "And she'd be warmer if you weren't covered in fur you know!" 'Then get me something to wear, unless you want me to go naked.' The fleabag retorted with what could only be a mischievous smile. Edward sighed, "Alice?" He said slightly louder, hoping she was within hearing distance; not really wanting to move. 'Yes Edward?' Good, Alice's thoughts seem to be coming from the direction of her room. "Could you bring the dog some clothes to wear please?" 'Sure, give me a second.' Almost immediately she was standing in the room with a pile of clothes, which she gently put down on the corner of the bed. Smiling she whispered, "She looks so peaceful when she sleeps." And then she was gone. 'No looking bloodsucker!' Edward scowled, closing his eyes as he felt the wolf get off the bed. "As if I'd want to scar myself like that for all eternity mongrel!" There was no reply and Edward wondered if the mutt knew that his scent changed when he phased, not that it made a difference. He felt the bed dip and when he looked over she was cuddled in the werewolf's arms. They laid there, Edward suppressing his shivers and Jacob with his eyes closed. Edward still felt so cold as he listened to their heartbeats. 'You know if you moved closer, you'd be warmer.' That startled him, he was almost certain the other male had fallen asleep. He moved closer, lying stiffly on his back, staring at the ceiling, not quite touching the mutt. "Hows the pack?" The silence making him uncomfortable. Surprised, Black looked at me with a raised eyebrow. 'As if you don't know.' He replied and the silence returned, not quite as uncomfortable as before. He began playing with her hair with his left hand and before I could say anything, he was pulling me closer with his right. 'You're still shivering.' I was now on my side, my head rested on his shoulder and his hand on my hip. I inched closer, soaking up the warmth his body radiated and pulled the comforter up to cover us.

"She's so beautiful." He whispered. "Yes puppy, yes she is." And together we laid there, watching as our beautiful daughter slept peacefully nestled on her father's chest.
