While I was listening to some Beirut band music I got myself into very melancholy mood and then I just couldn't get this little drabble out of my head... anyway, enjoy~

YOUR WISH
The night was calm. The wind blew gently, messing up their hair. Soft sounds of leaves and water seemed to be soothing Zack's thoughts and clear his mind.
'Beautiful night, isn't it?' he asked quietly and waited for a respond for few minutes.
'Yes, the full moon is really breathtaking,' Zack said, as if answered.
Cloud's form was leaning against him limply, he embraced the boy with one arm to support him.
'Sometimes I wonder,' continued the Soldier, 'what it would be like to never join Shinra, but to stay at home with my family, help dad in the field and mom at home. But then I scold myself. Silly Zack, I say. If I've never joined Shinra, I wouldn't have met Cloud. Right, Spiky?'
He smiled, broadly and joyfully, as he always did.
This was a calm night, unlike recently they could just relax and look into the starry sky. Zack combed his fingers through Cloud's uneven hair, he turned his head towards him and softly brushed his lips against the blonde's cheek. Cloud's eyes stared absently into the distance before them.
'I like the nights like that one. It's so quiet... though there are sounds everywhere, it is quiet. The city can't do that, right? It's always noisy and crowded, even at night. I guess, even if we make our lives more and more comfortable, we will never be able to make it beautiful as only nature can.'
Zack laughed and shook his head lightly.
'Ah, I'm talking rubbish. You should just tell me to shut up.'
Wind blew slightly stronger, cooling their bodies, but the heat between them did not fade away. The Soldier looked into the sky.
'Look,' he said pointing above with his free hand, 'a falling star. Let's make a wish. Gosh, I haven't done this in ages. You can't see any stars from Midgar.'
The young man chuckled happily, hugging Cloud a little stronger and their heads leaned against each other.
'I know you shouldn't say what you wished for, but I want to tell you anyway,' Zack said, stroking the blonde's shoulder.
I want this all to be over, he thought. I want to go home. With you. Away from troubles, fights, and fear. I want to know what to do, not only pretend. I want you to talk to me... To tell me what would be best for us to do now. I'm lost. I hate that feeling. You're depending on me and I'm so not sure of myself. I'm not even sure if you're still here. I feel lonely, even with you by my side. Somewhere along the way I lost my hope. How could I let this happen...?
I wish everything would turn out well.
'I wish to eat a toast with strawberry jam,' Zack announced and smiled again.
'Come on, Cloud. I know, I know, they say it wouldn't come true if you tell... But come on, you have to tell me.'
He looked deep into the empty eyes of his companion.
'What is your wish?'
