Danny Phantom
Rings
Maiden- Have any of you ever wondered what the full story was on the ring Danny gave Sam just after Phantom Planet? Well this is it! What the ring really means and what it used to. R&R!
To the untrained eye, the class ring didn't look like much. Only a turquoise stone set in a white gold band. It was supposed to symbolize a commitment to education, school spirit and a feeling of accomplishment. But to some, like Danny Fenton and Sam Manson, the ring means much more.
It's a reminder of the choices they've made, good and bad. Like Danny's choice to become Danny Phantom and protect the city of Amity Park. Although his choice was a noble one, it cost him alot of humility. Phantom was labled a nusiance and 'public ghost enemy number 1' even though all he wanted to do was keep his home safe.
For Sam, it was a reminder of her choice to become a goth and ultra-recyclo-vegetarian. By surrendering to the darkness within her, she chose to be different and unique. She stood out while others like Paulina and Star blended into the popular world that had been painted pink. Her diet was the source of many of hers and Tucker's fights. She stood for animal rights and equality while Tucker simply wanted to indulge in his carnivorous habbits.
And the ring was also a trinket of love. The tiny piece of jewlary had survived many eras of false love and trust. Paulina Sanchez was the first to win the heart of the blue eyed Phantom boy. For years he followed the hispanic girl like a long lost puppy, only to have his heart broken at the end of the day. When Danny finally realized this, Valerie Gray came into the picture.
Although she was much more desirable than Paulina, she held a deadly secret. She was the red suited ghost hunter that was hell bent on catching and killing Danny Phantom along with every other ghost in the city.
Whoever said Love is blind was absolutely right. As Danny continued to flaunt over Valerie, he lost sight of who really deserved his love; Sam.
The beautiful goth girl went overlooked until a white haired Hungarian boy came to Amity. Gregor seemed to be everything Sam wanted in a man; good looking, goth, foreign and most of all, he paied attention to her. It wasn't until Gregor started to make a move on Sam did Danny realize hisown feelings toward his best friend. Although he would never admit it, he was hopelessly in love with Samantha Manson. Perhaps this all started during thier first 'fake-out make-out' or maybe it was when Sam was kidnapped after the beauty pagent. However it happened, Danny was in love and thier was no going back.
But when the fate of the world was at stake, the resident halfa swallowed his pride and did what he only dreamed of doing. He kissed Sam. A kiss, not a fake-out make-out, but a genuine kiss. The moment he slipped the ring onto Sam's hand, it marked the beginning of a new era, one of true love. Maybe one day she'll go on to wear his collage ring...and perhaps a wedding band. Who's to know? All that is certain is that everything started with a simple class ring.
