I think Illusionshipping is one of the few het pairings I can tolerate XD Probably because I think Mai is such a kick-ass character. She can actually stand up for herself.

Anyways, here's another fic for compy's contest.

Enjoy ^^

Watching

He watched her lose her mind.

While he waited for the time he could enact his revenge on the Pharaoh, he watched her in her glass prison.

He enjoyed watching her misery, her loneliness. He found pleasure in her suffering, reliving all of her horrible memories, and crying at the cruel illusions before her.

She grew up alone. Her parents never around, constantly moving about so there were no friends to be made. Even after that she was alone. Dropping out of high school to run away from home and work in casinos and bars. It was so delightfully depressing that he couldn't help but laugh at her pain and misery.

His favourite thing to watch was what hurt her the most.

She did make friends eventually, with an unlikely group of people in a place called Duelist Kingdom. They taught her about pride, and gave her something to fight for. They were her light in the darkness as she duelled against him.

But he'd won, and he forced her to watch as those friends turned away from her one by one, leaving her screaming for them to come back, to love her, to care about her.

Of course it was all an illusion, and those friends of her were actually around the bedside of her soulless body, hoping and praying for her return. They were all pitiful and pathetic like that.

He knew that it was all in vain. He'd win. He'd defeat them all. He'd KILL them all. One by one. And he'd make this woman watch. He'd grown rather fond of watching her suffer. Very fond in fact.

The Pharaoh and his minions were off playing some game in some machine. He had plenty of time to kill before they got back, if they ever got back. He hoped they would. It would be such a shame for someone else killed them before he got the chance to torture them himself.

And while he waited, he kept watching her. Watched her lose her mind to the shadows.

Eventually she gave up screaming, and just slumped against her glass prison. He was almost dissappointed. He thought she had more strength than that, but she obviously didn't.

He had a happy little thought while he watched her after she'd given up hope. Even if they did manage to save this woman (not that they would, he wouldn't let them, not at all), her mind would be very damaged, maybe even beyond repair. That thought gave him a childish sort of glee.

His fight with the Pharaoh and the High Priest and the Dog came all to soon for his liking. He'd have loved to watch her longer, but first he had to carry out his plans. First the Dog would fall, he'd crush his spirit just as he'd crushed hers. Maybe he'd let them see each other one last time, and maybe she'd recognise him, but maybe not. The High Priest would fall to the Pharaoh, as he had done in the past, as he'd always done.

Then it would be his turn. His turn to fight the Pharaoh. Make him suffer, make him feel pain, make him bleed, and cry, and scream. Torturing his so-called friends would torture him also. It would all be very fun indeed.

As much as he wanted to torture the Pharaoh and his minions, he would make it quick, or quicker than usual. He wanted to go back to watching the woman.

Maybe she would try to put up a fight as the last of her mind was lost.

R+R, you'll get.... ok I'm running out of ideas now... anyone want a paperclip?
