[Disclaimer: I only own Kira, 'Major' and 'Tennisu no Ouji-sama' are not mine... *sniff*...

A/N: Well, this is my first try writing something that doesn't involve vampires, demons, witches and magic in general, so it'll be hard on me. Please, don't be too hard and review, otherwise I'll think that you don't like it...

Also, the 'POT' charachters' involvment in the story is minimal, therefore I'm classifying this as just 'Major' fanfic.]

PROLOGUE: AN UNCONVENTIAL ECHIZEN.

Echizen Kira… the guy who was supposed to become another tennis progidy… that's me… tell you what… I have no intention to live my life in the shadow of my grandpa, father, aunt Reiko and uncle Ryoga. How is that possible? Well… I'm now only 5, but I've decided. I'm not going to play tennis. I'll make my name in baseball… that is if my family doesn't kill me first. Have to go to the kindergarden now, so until next time.

Shutting his diary close and hiding it under his pillow, Echizen Kira raced downstairs to have his breakfast. He was very nervous about going to a new kindergarden, but since his father was transferred to a different club, the rest of them didn't have a choice really. He was about to enter the kitchen, when he heard his parents talking rather loudly, so he decided to stay out of the room, just in case.

- Ryoma! What do you mean? He's just five! Leave him be! He's too young for this!

- When I was his age…

- But he's not you…I won't let you force tennis on him.

- Nanao, what do you mean?

- Exactly as I said, I won't let you dictate his life.

Outside the room the boy in question was shaking, choking back tears. He couldn't understand why his father was so obsessed with tennis, but that made his resolve to go into baseball even stronger. Putting on an innocent face he walked into the room:

- Good morning, oka-san, otou-san!

Both adults stopped their arguing and smiled at the energetic kid. It was Nanao, who reacted first:

- Kira-kun, good morning. Did you think about the school options we showed you yesterday?

The boy bit his lower lip and nodded nervously:

- I'd like to go to Seishun.

He saw his father smile from ear to ear and the sight irked him a bit, but then again, he knew that at this age they'd only do basic physical training and he would need that for baseball. Therefore Seishun was as good as any other school, of course there was the added bonus of getting his father to finally stop nagging him.

[A/N : and that's it. I know it's short, but the next chapter will start after the time skip, when Kira is already in his fourth grade and ready to join Little League. How will the tennis-obsessed family react to his decision? Well.. the only way to find out is by leaving a review and waiting for the next chapter. The more reviews I get, the sooner the next chapter will be. That also applies to my other stories.

Thank you for reading,
