Dream big

Two men lay on the beach, gazing up into the endless sky, as the twinkling stars reflected in the broad sea before them.

The only audible noise was the quiet crash of waves on the shore.

"Hey, Germany?" a timid voice called, breaking the silence.

"What is it, Italy?"

"Can I be a star?"

For a moment, Germany was speechless.

"Uh, sure, I guess. But why?"

After thinking for a second, Italy replied.

"I don't know. Stars look small, but I hear they're really big! It'd be fun to fly through space. And I would have lots of star friends."

"Hm. Okay then."

Minutes of silence passed, as Germany thought about Italy's question and his response.

"Hey, Italy?

...

Could I be a star with you?"

When Italy didn't respond, Germany looked over and saw why.

Italy was already fast asleep, dreaming of being a star, surrounded by big bowls of pasta.
