Disclaimer: I don't own Calvin and Hobbes. The amazingly funny comic strip was created by Bill Waterson.

About This Story: A few days ago while my family was shopping at Wal-Mart, I noticed an umbrella similar to the one in this story. My sister and I came up with this scenario.

Coins for the Blinded

Calvin was going shopping with his Mom. They were stuck in a long checkout line, and Calvin was very bored, even with Hobbes there. Then he spotted an open umbrella hanging upside-down from the ceiling.

Toss coins to help the blind a sign below it read.

"Hey Mom, can I have a quarter to help the blind?" he asked.

"Sure." She replied, handing him a quarter, then going back to the magazine she was skimming while she waited.

Calvin walked over to the umbrella and took out the quarter. The umbrella was a lot higher up than it had looked from the line.

"You can't toss a quarter that high!" Hobbes said.

"Sure I can, watch!" Calvin replied. He chucked the coin like a rock instead of flip-tossing it like most people would. The coin soared over the umbrella and landed…

"AH! My eye!" The man who the coin had struck yelled.

"Let's get out of here!" Calvin whispered to Hobbes.

"Right behind you!" the tiger agreed.

"Calvin!" Mom yelled after him, but her son was already out the door.
