Red. . . Red was always stronger than Blue. It infuriated him in the begining, yes, but as time progressed, it was nice to know that Red could depend on himself when Blue wasn't there to save him. Not that he cared about Red's safety, of course, it was just easier for him to breathe knowing that he'd still have a rival (bestfriend) to look forward to beating each day.
That's why everything had scared him so badly. There were so many times that Blue had just been down right scared. Especially at Silph Co. Aggravated that he could be right next to Red and then suddenly, nothing. . . It frightened him more than anything.
He'd never cried out anyone's name until Red's. He'd never been that worried. The fear welled up in him as he saw him disappear down the trap in the floor, and bubbled out before he could stop himself.
Even while Kouga's Muk was suffocating him, think, purple sludge covering his airwaves and crushing his body, he could only pray that Red was okay; that maybe Red could save him. That, like always, Red would come busting through the doors and be a fucking hero.
Every year that passed was just another handful of situations to remind Blue that Red was the hero. He was the one to save the day, not Blue. No matter how similar they were, no matter how strong the gravitational pull between their personalities that made them to pieces of the same being, Blue would never be Red. And finally, after years of fighting himself to be better than Red, Blue was okay with this.
Now it was just nice to be able to walk next to Red and know he wasn't going anywhere. That dependability and stability was coming in handy.
