Forever and Ever

A Magnus and Alec one-shot

Magnus's P.O.V

Alec.

He was all I could think about, he was in my every thought. He was my life, my soul, my entire existence.

Now that our relationship had become public- thanks to the great battle, as it was now known as- we could easily go out on dates. Tonight, I was taking him out to Taki's for dinner and I plan to ask him something that has been on my mind since the Great Battle: immortality.

The Gray book has shown me runes and magic than I had ever seen in my entire 800 years of living. One of these runes was Immortality- but, only a warlock could use it. And, well, being the High Warlock of Brooklyn had certain good qualities. Obviously.

But realizing that any day, I could lose him forever had me thinking about giving him more than my almost 900 year's of living.

I wouldn't have to lose him.

I sighed. Alec was late- a rare thing for him. We were supposed to meet here at 8:00 and it was 8:05. Here I was; in my favorite rainbow pants (with glitter), my amazing blue long sleeved shirt (with more glitter), and my black vest (with even more glitter). And, to top it all off, I was nervous.

Ah. Alec slid into the booth across from me a moment later.

"Sorry I'm so late. Isabelle was experimenting on me and it took me

forever to wash all of the makeup off." He wore an embarrassed and disgruntled expression on his face. I laughed.

"Alec, dear, you still have a little bit of eye shadow on you." I licked my thumb and wiped it over the top off his eyelid. He blushed- Alec was so adorable when he blushed- and I looked into his deep blue eyes.

"I have something I want to ask you." I started.

"Go ahead." I took a deep breath.

"Can I make you immortal?" There. I said it. That wasn't so hard.

"Huh?" Trust Alec to make this more difficult.

Ah, well.

"In the Gray book there is a rune so powerful that only warlocks can use it to make a shadow hunter immortal. I could not bear it if you died, so, may I use it on you?"

"Yes, yes of course- as long as you stay with me forever."

"Forever and ever." I replied, smiling. I meant it, too. There would be no point in life without Alec.

"Oh, and Alec?"

"Yeah?"

"Will you marry me?" What made me say that? Of course I wanted it to happen, but what if it was too soon for him? He smiled.

"Yes." I smiled now, too, and kissed him full on the mouth when everyone was looking.
