"I don't understand you, Dean," Sam mutters as he puts the last stitch in his brother's scalp. "Why didn't you just walk away?"

Dean looks up at Sam through pain filled eyes. He doesn't say anything though, just shakes his head a little and Sam slaps a wet cloth into his hands with terse instructions to clean himself up a little. Dean's voice is so soft he thinks he's misheard at first.

"I lost control."

Sam turns back to Dean, raising an eyebrow.

"What?"

"They said you were a monster…"

Dean doesn't need to say anything else. Sam understands now.
