I'm happy..

She told herself as she woke up and prepared for another glorious day.

I'm happy..

She told herself as she boarded the bus that headed to school.

I'm happy..

She told herself as she chatted with her friends.

I'm happy..

She told herself as the teacher discussed the day's lessons.

I'm happy..

She told herself as she ate lunch with her friends.

I'm happy..

She told herself as she headed home.

I'm happy..

She told herself as she waited for her father to come home.

I'm happy..

She told herself as her father began to assault her body.

I'm happy..

She told herself again and again, everyday.

I'm happy..

She told herself as she slipped the rope around her neck.

I'm happy..

She told herself, as she slowly slipped away.. from this world to the next.

In her hands held a note.

I'm happy..

Was all that she wrote.

A/N: For background info to those reading this who haven't read/watched the book/movie, this is about Daisy. Who was being sexually abused by her father and who eventually commited suicide. A poem about not only her but those like her. There are too many of them, and not enough who help.

Ignorance isn't bliss. Ignorance will allow their Hell to continue, so..

Help spread the word. STOP CHILD SEX ABUSE!!

Even just by reading, you're helping to give some exposure to this often "carpeted" issue.

Don't let another "Daisy" happen.
