"You did what?!" Harry asked, clearly shocked.
"I spent the entire summer reading the Twilight series," Hermione said matter-of-factly. "Don't tell me you haven't read it? I've read all of them four times now."
"And you couldn't think of anything better to do with your time?"
"Seriously Harry, everyone's reading it…" Ron held up his own copy of Breaking Dawn. "I borrowed this one from Ginny."
"You've got to be kidding me…"
"It's really not as bad as it sounds, Harry…" Ron added, turning back to his book.
"Come on, a book about vampires?"
Hermione frowned, but stayed silent.
"Sure, whatever. Read your books. I have class to go to." Harry grabbed his textbook and left the others behind.
"Class? I completely forgot!" Hermione grabbed her wand and took off after him.
Vaguely sensing the commotion, Ron looked up from his book and muttered, "Hey, where'd everyone go?" Then, without a second thought, he shrugged and continued reading.
Meanwhile, when Hermione was halfway to class, she quickly turned a corner and pulled out her wand. "Accio textbook!" With a flick of her wand, the needed book appeared before her. Feeling pretty smug, she looked down at her copy of Twilight and waved her wand once more. "Accio Edward!"
She eagerly looked around, but she remained alone in the hall. Disappointed, she decided to head to class. "It's a book Hermione…" she said rolling her eyes. "Like that would really work."
Looking down at her watch, she took off running. SMASH! Before long she landed on the floor. "Owww…" A brick wall… She was certain she'd just hit a brick wall.
"Hey, are you okay?" A man's voice asked, bringing her back to reality.
Wincing slightly, she looked up. "Cedric? What are you doing here?"
"Cedric?" The man asked, confused. "Never mind that… are you…"
Before he could finish his sentence, he was cut off by a frantic Hermione. "I'm late for class. We'll talk later?" With that, she took off running.
Before she was even three steps into her run, he was once again in front of her. This time, she managed to avoid a collision.
"How did you…? Whatever… I'm really late…" Hermione said, darting around him. "Later, okay?"
The two of them continued like this until he had followed her right into class, loudly spouting accusations. "You… what did you do?"
The entire class went silent and turned to watch the action.
"What's up with Cedric?" Harry asked quietly, as Hermione took her seat nearby.
"I don't know… I ran into him, now he won't stop following me."
"He sounds like a stalker…" Harry continued.
"Ahem!" Professor Snape cleared his throat.
The 'stalker' turned to the professor and narrowed his eyes. "This doesn't concern you!"
Snape grimaced, fighting the overwhelming urge to exercise his extensive knowledge of the black arts. "If you don't mind, I would like to get on with my lesson without any smart-aleck interruptions. Either sit down and shut up… or leave."
