Buffy loved Spike, and Spike loved Buffy. They were made for each other.

"Let's go to the park," said Buffy.

"Great idea!" said Spike.

They brought food with them and had a picnic. There were many who thought the word "picnic" had a racist origin, but Spike knew better. But that's not important to the story.

After they were done at the park, it was Spike's turn to think of something.

"Let's go see a play," he said.

"Sure," said Buffy.

They went to see Firefly: The Musical. The plot was okay, but the acting was subpar. In all fairness, the regular cast was all sick, forcing the theater to bring in the understudies.

They got out of the theater just in time for dinner. So they went to the local McDonald's.

"I used to work at a McDonald's," said Buffy.

"Really?" said Spike. "Sounds fascinating."

"I'll tell you all about it later."

Spike got an Angus Third-pounder with a root beer. Buffy got two of the Angus, three large orders of fries, and a Diet Coke. [A/N: Get it?! She's trying to watch her weight... oh well, it was funnier in my head.]

While they were eating, Spike suddenly had a serious thought.

"Have you given any thought to your future?" he asked.

Buffy thought about this for a few minutes. "Can't say I have, really," she said. "I suppose I'm more the type to just take it as it comes."

"I guess we have more in common than I first thought."

After they'd finished their food, they went to a local dance club. They were kicked out, however, after everyone else got sick of them doing the robot. They were doing this to country music, no less!

"What a bunch of spoilsports!" said Buffy.

"Oh, who needs them anyway?" replied Spike. "Would you like to see my home?"

"Finally! I thought you'd never ask."

Soon, they were at Spike's home. Or more specifically, his mom's home.

"Spike, did you take out the trash?" his mom demanded.

"Mom, I'm in the middle of something!"

"Take out the damn trash!"

"Yes, Mommy." He turned his attention back to Buffy. "Maybe we'd best call it a day."

"That's fine," Buffy said. "I was getting kind of tired anyway." She got her stuff and left the house. On her way out, she grabbed the garbage and took it out, so Spike could stay in his room. She loved him more than anything and had no doubt they were destined to be together forever.

Sometime later...

"Hello, Juliet," said Topher.

"Did I fall asleep?" she said.

"For a little while."

"Shall I go now?"

"If you like." He watched Juliet get up and go to be with the other Actives.

Meanwhile, Adelle got a notice that Spike's check had bounced. Again.

"That does it," she said. "Until he's paid us what he owes, no more engagements for him."

"I'll be sure to inform him of that," said Boyd, as he left her office.
