No matter what he did, he just couldn't get that dream out of his head. Stupid coma. Couldn't it erase that dream along with all the other memories it eradicated?
He peeked at his partner over the Plumbing for Dummies book he had in his hands (turned to chapter 5, 'How to change a leaky tap'). Temperance Brennan was, in typical squint mode, squinting at the leaky tap.
"It's definitely rusted." She gave a sigh, then stared at the book. And then at him.
He got her look immediately. "Amnesia, Bren- I mean, Bones." He immediately corrected himself when her face fell. "I forgot how to fix a tap."
She nodded and ducked her head. But it wasn't fast enough to conceal the hurt in her eyes from him.
If she was Bren, he would grab her immediately and kiss her to make her feel better. But she wasn't Bren. She was Bones. And Seeley Booth just did not kiss Bones on a daily basis, no matter how much he wanted to.
But this wasn't the time to dwell on things. He had a tap to go fix.

"Don't you need to go change?" she asked him, eyeing the wet shirt that clung to his frame while they walked towards her car.
He noticed that her gaze lingered on his chest for a little longer that was necessary. For that, risking pneumonia was worth it.
"No need to. It's almost dry anyway, and it's a sign of a successful tap fix." He tried to ignore the goosebumps sprouting up on his arm.
"If that's all, I have to make a move now. A set of remains just came in from China." She stopped in front of her car. "And don't forget to change your shirt. You're going to get a cold."
She plucked his shirt and wiped the dampness on her jeans.
Just like Bren would do.
"Okayyy. Drive safe, ok, Bren?" He opened her car door for her and kissed her. He could feel her hesitate for a moment before kissing him back.
When he released her, she had this dumbfounded look on her face. He waited for her to slid in her seat, then closed the door of the car.
He had gotten a quite a distance from the SUV before realizing it.
Shit. She wasn't Bren, she was Bones.
Then: holy crap. I kissed Bones.

Just read the Bones TCA spoilers. And as for those of you who haven't, Booth will forget how to plumb. Which provided the basis for this little fic I had squirreled in my mind.
Thanks to my long-suffering friend/beta Amanda, who proofreads all my fics, no matter how busy she is making her little Sim 3 Brennan become a DNA analyst and her Sim 3 Booth a super-spy. Unfortunately, they don't partner each other. BOOOO. Fortunately, she provided only one bed in the house they share. And according to updates, they snuggle. A Lot. *Cheer*
Also thanks to her friend Samantha, whom I'm told loves these little bits of fluff.
Oh. Almost forgot! Read and review, please!
