"Ichigo?" Karin asks, concerned, as her brother smiles. He stands up, pushing the chair back form the table. He tilts his head to the side. "I do have a present, but it's kind of big…you need to see it outside. Follow me."

The rest of the family following behind them as he leads them out of the door. They tramp along the sidewalk, Ichigo in the lead, flanked by Karin and Rukia, who had run to catch up, and with Yuzu and Isshin in the back.

They finally get to the park, which is surprisingly empty. Ichigo stops. He reaches into his pocket, then paused. Smirking even wider, if that is possible, he with draws his hand slowly. He points two fingers from his hand, aiming his palm out towards the sky. Rukia's eyes widen and she grabs Karin's wrist, dragging her back to where Isshin and Yuzu had stopped.

Ichigo's reitsu starts to swirl around him, glowing a bright electric blue. He can be heard muttering…

Then he raises his head, looking in the sky. "HADOU NUMBER FOUR-WHITE LIGHTNING!" The family (and the third daughter) look on in amazement as the light streaks out of his hand, bursting into the blue sky.

As the shock of the fact that Ichigo just produced a working kidou spell takes effect, he leisurely reaches down beside him. He stopped walking right by a tree, so he can pick up wood chips-the type used for mulch. Throwing the chips impossibly high in the air he reaches, first to his face, then after making a clawing motion, he reaches up with a hand. As they start to come back down, in a tainted voice-"Bala."

The balls of light hit on target, exploding with a brilliant show of reitsu. Karin is…

"Ichigo, you could have just bought me sports stuff, you know?"

--"But seriously now, thanks Ichi-nii!"

But Rukia is fully serious. "How did you do that without changing?"

He rolls his eyes, although they can't tell from behind the mask. "You don't need to come out for kidou, and I use my mask without changing. More importantly," he turns to his sister with a smile, a real smile, "You sure you liked it?"

"…Yeah. Who doesn't like their brother making things explode for their birthday?!"
