What I Just Realized
"You know what I just realized?" Kagome asked him, the cool summer air brushing against her soft skin. They had been lying in the field for hours, not saying a word. Her back was hot due to the scorching sun hitting the dark soil, turning it into a sort-of microwave under her back. He hadn't moved at all the whole time they had been there. His eyes would open and close, but they had been closed for a while now. She could have sworn that he fell asleep until he answered her question.
"What?" Sesshomaru replied with his silk- wrapped voice while adjusting his hands beneath his head. His long, god-like silver hair flowing around him.
"That the clouds in the sky never stop moving." He turned his head on his palm to gaze at her. His eyes full of innocent wonder and in need of an explanation. She continued to look up at the never-ending sky.
"They continually travel. They need no consent from anything or anyone to keep moving. Some evolve into something more, some stay exactly the same. Just like humans. They're not expected to change, but sometimes they just do. Changing or not, they just keep moving. Into the next day." Kagome smiled to herself as she explained. The wind running its fingers through her ebony curls.
He stared at her in admiration for another minute, then shifted his head back to it's original position. He closed his topaz eyes and took a deep breath in.
"You know what I just realized?" Sesshomaru asked her, his eyes still shut.
"What?" She replied, still looking into the light blue abyss. Her sapphire eyes dream-like.
"That I'm utterly and irreversibly in love with you."
Kagomes eyes widened and she turned her body to face him. As she did, she felt her lips touch the petal-like softness of his. He had rolled over in a millisecond to fully face her and already had her inside his arms. He pulled away from her in what seemed like a hint of embarrassment and realization of what he just did, looking at her as though he wanted an answer to a question. She smiled brightly and leaned forward to lovingly scoop his face up in her hands. She leaned forward more and placed her lips back on his in approval. He instinctively wrapped his arms tightly around her waist and pulled her close to him, causing their bodies to meet and deepen their connection. She pulled lightly away from his kiss.
"I never would have thought a year ago that this is where we'd be." She said in surprise. He beamed.
"I'm a cloud Kagome, I need no consent from anyone to move forward and to change. I've moved into the next day and I want to spend each day after with you." Sesshomaru murmured, still holding her tightly in his grip.
She grinned widely and leaned in to continue their kiss. The clouds still traveling above them.
Parting Words Here is a one-shot that came into my head out of nowhere. I figured I have not written something cute in a while so I decided to write this when it came to mind. I hope you enjoy it! Read and review! Kjminame
