"The Nervous Day"

A Special A Fanfiction

Unfortunately, I own none of these people. T.T

Please, enjoy, review (please don't beat me verbally), and chuckle whilst reading about Kei being nervous.

Kei Takashima had never been more nervous in his life. He wasn't exactly sure why he was so nervous. He shouldn't be. The woman he loved was in a room not to far from him and his friends and family were surrounding him. He should have felt comfortable. But for some reason he could not find, he was still skittish. Maybe it was because he hadn't seen Hikari all day and that always made him nervous. He knew what kind of trouble she could get herself into, but he also knew she was in good hands. Specifically Akira's, but nonetheless they were still good hands... Most of the time. Kei shook his head and went back to pacing in front of a pair of double doors, he still couldn't calm down. Then a firm hand grasped his shoulder. He looked up. His father smiled.

" It will be fine." His simple words calmed some of Kei's nerves. Kei smiled back at his father. His mother appeared behind him and tapped his shoulder. Kei turned and saw her smile. She looked glorious in her navy blue cocktail dress and creamy white throw.

" Are you ready Kei?" she asked. Kei only nodded and offered his arm to his mother. They fell in line behind the others. First Megumi and Yahiro, Ryuu and Finn, Jun and Sakura, then Tadashi and Akira. Tadashi turned to Kei,

"It's going to be great. Just wait 'till you see Hikari." Tadashi winked. Kei smiled and thanked his friend for the comfort. Kei took a deep breath and his mother smiled lovingly at him and patted his arm. The procession then began and as he walked all the eyes followed him. He was surprised, even his crabby grandfather showed up. Though he still scowled a little bit. He reached the end of the isle, and walked up the steps and stood next to Tadashi.

Then the music changed, everyone stood and turned to the back of the building. The doors that had been shut and were now opened.

Everyone nearly gasped. And Akira smiled with satisfaction at her work. Takashima was so stunned that he completely forgot about being nervous. She was beautiful. (Well she always was, but today was different.) Her gown was a simple a-line dress that gathered to the small of her back and fell in cascades of white silk and pearls to make her train. Her raven hair was pulled up into a crown of curls on her head and the veil sat perfectly upon her head. She was beaming as the congregation's eyes followed her up to the isle. Kei even thought he saw his grandfather smile, even a little bit.

He knew at that moment that he had no reason to be nervous. He took his soon to be wife's hand and faced the minister. Both happy as could be. Kei Takashima felt at that moment he would never be nervous again so long as Hikari was always by his side.

But was he ever so wrong.

Maybe, about a year down the road, he would once again be pacing in a hallway, only a wall keeping him from his wife, nervous once again.

Well, it's a short little drabble that I wrote in about... 30 minutes or so. So, I'm not entirely convinced that it's any good. But I played with the idea and after a bit, I decided I liked it enough that I wrote it. And this is also my first posting of a fanfic. . So, please don't eat me alive. I also enjoyed leaving the hint for you all at the end. (It's inevitable!) ; )
