Ants in a Magnifying Glass
Disclaimer: Ha! I wish!
A/N: Ok, so to be absolutely honest, I suck at poetry but this just popped into my head. There's no particular rhyme or rhythm to it. It's basically The Doctor's thoughts on the human race...
A/N Take Two: Apologies for the format, I had trouble getting the document uploader to accept my spacing so I had to split my stanzas in this very odd way. Hope it still makes sense!
A/N Take Three: Enjoy, and please remember, people...reviews are love! (Although, despite the fact that constructive critisism is always appreciated, I'd be grateful if flames were kept to a minimum)

I walk in eternity,
Always alone.
Sand slips through my fingertips.
An hourglass of everything,
Running out.
Missing. Losing.
Missed. Lost.
Nothing stays the same,
Change is eternal.
The stars, the moon, the sun.
All orbiting dots.
Ants in a magnifying glass.
They don't matter.
They're small. Insignificant.
Yet the tiniest of their changes,
Can shape the course of the universe.
Everyday life.
The monotony,
Little things.
Routine.
Dust particles on the face of such a bright sphere.
And they mean everything.
Life,
In all it's seedy glory.
Still growing,
Still changing.
Determining the expanse of space,
And everything in it.
Forever.
