Seven Evils

Seven be the Greater Evils,

Residing in Hell's flame.

Waging war against the Heavens,

And the mortal plain

...

Three the greater, four the lesser,

Across Creation do they fight.

Leading demons against angels,

In war do they delight.

...

At least this was the status quo,

Before the Dark Exile.

Hell falling to civil war,

Man and angel still reviled.

...

First of the four evils lesser,

He, the Lord of Sin.

Azmodan be the demon's name,

Fallen Ones in thrall to him.

...

Opposite to Azmodan,

Belial, Lord of Lies.

Despising the mortal realm,

Seeking war in Heaven's skies.

...

Third, the daughter of Lilith.

The Maiden of Anguish.

Andariel is the beast's name,

In her grasp her foes do languish.

...

Last but not least, Duriel,

The bestial Lord of Pain.

Left to guard Tal Rasha's tomb,

His Soulstone not to claim.

...

These be the four Lesser Evils,

But still remain the Three.

They, the source of this world's woe,

The blight of Sanctuary.

...

Baal, Lord of Destruction dark,

Who corrupted the Worldstone.

Only at last moment he,

Was toppled from his throne.

...

Mephisto, Lord of Hatred,

The eldest of the Three.

The first Great Evil to be imprisoned,

Yet first to break free.

...

And finally, the Lord of Terror,

Diablo is his name.

Claws and scales, tough as mail,

Casting burning flame.

...

So Man and angel, both take heed,

On bitter wind death blows.

And you can be sure that in the dark,

Demons are in tow.

A/N

Following up on a request, this was created as the counterpart to Angiris, describing the Great Evils instead of the archangels of the Angiris Council. And yes, that the number of stanzas is the same is intentional. Go figure.
