Notes: Inspired by Gwen's monologue in the final episode of Torchwood: Children of Earth. I just couldn't help wondering. As for who or which planet the Doctor is watching - that's up to you.
Watching
He had watched for hundreds of years. Planets rising and falling. He had seen the beginning of the universe and the end.
The planet below was one of many. One of those he had helped, shaped, saved. It could be any planet orbiting a medium yellow star. Any planet he had saved. Any planet with any people.
He listened to the silence of his ship, a silent wish on his lips.
But then he looked down below at the planet that tore itself apart. Governments terrorising the innocent. Children killed. Heroes murdered. Blood staining the planet's landscape as its people turned against each other.
He watched. And then the Doctor turned his head away in shame.
