Tone Deaf

When it came to girls, he never liked the ones that could sing.

Sure, having a girl with a pretty voice is something to be proud of and perhaps his brothers would agree with that. He's sure that they would like to have a girlfriend that could sing so that they could sing pretty things together and the whole world could look at them and say, "Aww, what a cute, harmonic couple. They are perfect for each other." Okay, so maybe not the whole world, just the whole world excluding the girls that think that they were destined to marry one of the Lucas brothers. Not.

Though he loves to sing with girls, making pretty sounds so the neighbors don't complain about the noise, he doesn't want a girlfriend like that. He wants a girl that doesn't sing so that he can sing to her. She could complain about how much of a lousy singer she is, but she would always get to hear her boy sing for her and realize that it doesn't matter that she can't sing. As long as she had him by her side, it didn't matter what her vocal cords produced.

His brothers always had girlfriends that could sing. Nick once dated their backup singer. No matter how hard he tried, he could never see what his brothers saw in those girls. Sure, they were pretty. Sure, they had nice personalities. Sure, they could sing. But it always seemed that the fact that they could sing turned him off.

When he asked Macy to be their backup singer, he thought that for once in his life that he finally found a girl that he liked, and could sing!

Until, of course, she opened her mouth.

That's when he realized it was the same old story. He never was attracted to girls who could sing. What was it about Macy? She was the craziest JONAS fan there ever could be. She was a graceful athlete out on the field, track rink, whatever, but when she got close to the Lucas brothers, it seemed all of her coordination disappeared. Why did he fall for that? What was it about her bipolar gracefulness and clumsiness that got to him?

Her brown eyes shimmered whenever he looked down at them. Her smile seemed to brighten his whole day. But when she opens her mouth to sing, you wonder what kind of animal could have produced that noise.

Guess when it comes to girls, Kevin likes them tone deaf.

A/N:
Kevin sings well. I wish he sang more though. I'm wondering if they (being his brothers) don't let him, he doesn't want to, his focus is lead guitar, or all of the above. Either way, I WANT KEVIN TO SING MORE.
I've loved Kevin/Macy even before that awesome episode. Disney loves me.
I didn't want to post two JONAS fics in a row, but none of my others are finished yet, so I guess we'll have to deal.
