Teddy had felt really touched when the Kaplans had called him part of the family.
He didn't realise that equated to dinner parties.
As Billy was refilling his drink at the table, an arm came out of the other room and dragged him in. It was Teddy.
He shut the door behind them and then grabbed his boyfriend and started moaning into his shoulder. "Billy, all your parents' friends keep staring at me."
Billy patted him on the back. "It's okay, it's just…you're new."
It didn't work. Teddy pulled away and looked him square in the eye. "You're lying to me."
"How the hell do you do that?"
"Billy." His face turned mock angry and Billy sighed.
"It's just…well…"
"What?"
The spellcaster stared down at the floor and twiddled his feet. "Well, they've known me all my life. But, most of them didn't know I was-"
"Gay?"
"Yes. But here I am, with a big, sexy boyfriend and some of them think…y'know…"
"What? That I seduced you over to the pink?"
"To put a fine point on it, yes."
"That's the stupidest-"
"I know, but they think that's how it works."
"Would it help if I morphed into a girl?"
There was a pause. Billy threw his drink over his boyfriend and then pinned him against the wall. "Don't ever suggest that again."
For those wondering, the title just means 'fear of dinner parties'. Neat, huh?
