Title: "Riddle Me This"
Author: Pirate Turner
Rating: PG
Summary: Joker muses on his relationship with the Riddler.
Warnings: Slash, Poetry
Disclaimer: Joker, Riddler, and Batman are & TM DC comics, not the author, and are used without permission. Everything else is & TM the author. The author makes absolutely no profit off of this work of fan fiction, and no copyright infringement is intended.
Author's Notes: Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately as I do think it came out surprisingly well, Joker just wouldn't leave me alone one day. He kept sending two lines circling through my head until I finally picked up a paper bag and started to write. This poem is the result of that annoyance. ;-)

Riddle me this:
What kind of fool clown am I
To fall for you,
You who are so heartless
And so cruel just like I,
You who are only interested in anything
To gleam what riches you can?
I am not just a clown.
I am the King of Clowns,
The Prince of Fools,
And, most of all, your clown,
But where I have been fun,
I can be vicious,
So be careful, my dear,
And tread lightly as you
Strip my defenses away and
Riddle me as useless
As I am senseless.
Kiss away my cares.
Whisper solace to my secret fears.
We'll not let the big, bad Bat
Chase us away into the night
Or lock us apart behind bars.
One day this city will be ours,
And then the world will be our oyster,
Plump and prime for the picking,
But in the mean time,
My green-clad bosom companion,
Just love me.
The End
