Kimball Cho may be a man of few words, but he was a man of many eyes. Not much got by him.

He'd been the first one to notice the growing relationship between Agent Teresa Lisbon and Patrick 'I'm just a consultant' Jane.

She no longer startled when Patrick suddenly appeared, and the personal space between them had been slowly but surely getting smaller. You could forgive an outsider for presuming that Lisbon and Jane were in an intimate relationship of some sort, seeing how comfortably close they stand together as they assess a scene or conduct an interview.

Lisbon still retained her 'tough as nails' exterior, but somehow Patrick Jane had twisted his way past it. 'No doubt suffering a few scratches,' snorted Cho to himself.

Sure, she still rolled his eyes at her antics, still got riled up every time Jane got the bureau in trouble – though it must be noted that he was usually the one to get them back out of trouble – and had no qualms about physically abusing him if the need came about, but it was kind of nice seeing how they'd filled the gap in the other's life.

No matter what confident and outgoing persona Jane gives off, he's an intensely private person – and Lisbon even more so.

So it had come as a surprise to others when they discovered that Jane and Lisbon were in a relationship. He'd been ashamed to admit that he hadn't noticed that the final step had been taken, but he redeemed himself when he figured out that Lisbon was pregnant long before she made the news public three months ago.

Sitting at the table tonight as they waited for the two people currently occupying his thoughts, Cho rolled his eyes internally at some question a bumbling Rigsby asked van Pelt. There was no need to be a detective with these two: anyone could spot Rigsby's intentions and attempts a mile away.

Raising his drink to his lips, he surreptitiously noticed the arrival of Lisbon and Jane together. It was funny watching them acting together when they thought no one was watching: Jane toned down his flirtatious manner, and Lisbon allowed genuine emotion to show.

He watched Jane open the door for her, and bet that Lisbon's amused upturned face was relaying some smart alec comment about Jane's gentleman-like behaviour – or the lack thereof.

Turning his attention back to his table, he noticed Patrick lean down to softly kiss a blushing Teresa in the doorway before they enter the restaurant, and Jane makes their presence known at the table with a resounding 'We have arrived – let the party begin!'

Nodding his head in their direction as a means of greeting, he noticed how Jane continued to joke and laugh with everyone, but made sure that the pregnant Lisbon was seated before heading to the bar to fetch their drinks. He didn't even need to ask her preference.

'Nothing's changed?!' thought Cho, before pulling himself out of his thoughts to join in the festivities. 'My ass!'

Cho is an enigmatic character that I find fascinatingly interesting. Hopefully I haven't written this too out of character for him.

There's no business like Cho business.
