Author's notes: I wrote a poem about Dark Knights (Tale of a Dark Knight), so I decided to write one about the class' antithesis, Paladins. Though I like Dark Knights better (and with cooler armor!), I find Paladins quite good.
P.S. Ah hell, I might as well do one for every class! (Does not mean I will)
Tale of a Paladin
You come, in search of helplessness
You come, to protect your fellows
You come and prove yourself again and again,
And now, once more
Veiled in the white armor of redemption you come to arms
Protecting your family
Your home
Your friends
And all those strangers
You have taken their wounds, your own, and left yourself…
Weak
You see several of your comrades wounded
And you wave your hand so they can fight
For the path you've chosen
The Path of Light
Is a self-sacrificing one
You come to the middle of the battlefield
An epicenter of loss
You take the lead
And you sacrifice for their sakes
So that they may fight on
Why must you sacrifice so much?
Do you not see the pain you put yourself through?
… Or perhaps,
You fight for their tomorrow?
You are an eternal, everlasting ray through the clouds
You are a Paladin
And now you have come to me
To fight
To die
Author's notes: So here it is. I'm thinking of doing a Black Mage one next, after I finish a few chapters for my other stories.
