Wolf and Red
By: Istalindir
I was free once. Free and innocent and deadly. All these things and more in the cool shade of my forest home. All I knew was the hunt and hunger and the cool beauty of the moon. I had been alone always and thought this was how I would be always. I ate and slept and danced through the long nights.
Then She came.
She who was other yet the same. I knew of the creatures that lived beyond the forests' edge. Naked and weak and fearful. I cared not for them and they came but rarely into my home. She was nothing like those pitiful things.
She of the red, red pelt and hair to drive foxes mad with envy. She came into my home, fearless and deadly just as I was. She too danced in the moonlight, she too reveled in the blood of fallen prey.
In so many ways we were the same, I, in my innocence, was captivated. I mourned her absence and rejoiced her arrival. I drew ever closer. Every glance was pleasure and every touch a death. My world became nothing, I became nothing. Nothing without her. I was obsessed and in love and so happy.
I would join her in her wild circle dances, where she shed her pelt and became pale and tender and so very beautiful. Every second apart was madness, every moment together a pleasure sharper than pain.
Even now this pounds in me beyond all thought, beyond all redemption. I want nothing but her, I will do and be anything for her.
Her.
She... my everything.
Our last night together was worth the pain that now roars through my veins. We danced her dance and for a time she became different. She was like me then, in shape and act. Fur as red as blood, eyes blue as the sky and so beautiful.
We ran together, she was fleeter than any deer. Silent death on four paws. We howled together to the swollen moon and killed with wild abandon. We became one drenched in the blood of prey.
Ah, pleasure beyond word or thought or deed.
I love her, worship her, she is my world, my goddess.
All and everything encompassed in her. As this night draws to a close so to does my life. Willingly sacrificed to my love. Her touch is pleasure-and-pain that blots the petty feel of my blood coursing hot from my body.
She caress me and holds me and presses close. Her red, red pelt has slid down to reveal some of her pale tender flesh. Love, I love her, she is all. I must keep my eyes open, though I am so very tired, I must see her.
She is precious and lovely and so close and so real.
My goddess.
I love you, worship-adore-need-yearn.
