I
see Hermes, unsuspected, dying, well-beloved, saying to the
people, "Do not weep for me,
This is not my true country, I
have lived banished from my true country—I now go back there,
I
return to the celestial sphere where every one goes in his turn."
Walt Whitman, Salut au Monde. 6.
A Kiss and You're Gone
Jack forgave him with a heartbreaking kiss.
Ianto didn't feel he deserved absolution – he'd betrayed Jack. Again. But there it was, and they'd all witnessed it. He felt lighter inside – almost…happy.
He, Owen, and Toshiko strolled across the Plass with coffee in hand, laughing and sharing easy banter.
Ianto's skin prickled when he caught the barely-discernable whooshing in the distance. His stomach churned with dread.
A distraught Gwen met them in the Hub. "Jack's gone! Something's taken him!"
Anger exploded through Ianto. He'd once been Torchwood One – he recognised that sound.
He also knew his Captain.
Jack – what the fuck?
