Family Feud: A Cullen/Black Tale

Prologue:

The water was cold as I paced back and forth along the shore.

I looked back to see my best friend Kevin Uley smiling at me and trying to coax me to leave the comfort of the rolling waves, but I couldn't. I heard an alluring voice like sweet music calling my name, "Aiyanna, come to me." The sound was so sweet, tempting, I couldn't just walk away from something so beautiful. As I walked closer and closer to the water I heard a menacing shredding sound coming from behind me.

"Kevin!" I screamed panicking. But when I turned around all that was in his place was a shredded tree with claw marks torn in the bark, and a pair of ragged shorts. I felt the scream building in the hollow of my throat, and that's when I heard it for the first time - a howl filled with pain stretched across the black sky and the sweet voice became frantic.

"Aiyanna come to me now!" the voice said, and as I stumbled backward towards the water I felt two cold hands lightly grip my shoulders. The hands were dragging me so fast from the forest it seemed inhuman, but I didn't look back to see who it was. I kept my eyes on the forest because there, in the shadow of the tangled trees, was a huge dark figure of some animal following us just as fast.
