Daughter of blood, born in darkness

The prophesized one to clean up this mess

We await the time this world you will bless

You entered this world so alone and so weak

You were beaten and bloodied and taught to be meek

You're name was forgotten they dubbed you "The Freak"

But one cold full moon you looked at the sky

And the stars told you that your life was a lie

And that your time was quickly drawing nigh

Your smile was so heartbreaking, it was the first ever seen

Your countenance took on a glorious sheen

You withheld the urge to strut and to preen

Your life had a purpose, a reason, a light

You thought the end of your troubles was within your sight

You were so glad you went outside that night

Then on your birthday they came for you

The ones with magic just like you knew

They said "You are one of us too"

You smiled and carefully held his hand

As he lead you away to a magical land

The shops and the bank were so fine and so grand

You got all you stuff and then it was time

In order to get your magic to the tip of its prime

You enter the shop and hear a tinkling chime

"You need a wand?" whispered a wispy old fellow

He handed you one, the reaction wasn't mellow

Six hundred and forty seven later you gently whispered "Hello"

Your wand was so beautiful it was long and quite thin

The darkest of black it seemed the essence of sin

"Death tree and heartstring of kitsune and kin"

You spent the rest of the summer deep in your room

Reading your books and a dusty old tome

You had no idea of the blood covered loom

Your first year was started in silence and screams

But living with snakes was one of your dreams

For you knew nothing was what it seems

The year zipped by before you knew it

And you met the dark lord deep in a pit

There you dealt the fatal hit

The bearded one smiled in smug satisfaction

He felt assured that you were in his fraction

And sucked on lemon drops for his luncheon

But you hid the truth deep within your soul

If any found out your life would be null

For when you felt his darkness you felt a strong pull

You held him close and still he fell

He wasn't dark enough you were Lady of Hell

You concocted a lie when they found his shell

Throughout the years you were drawn to him

You absorbed his darkness each time on a whim

Until after sunset when it was dim

You ripped off the masks and stood proud and tall

You killed the old one and watched him fall

Smiling slightly you walked to the Hall

The Great Hall was empty except for the dead

Teachers and students and others he led

Blinded by the lies they had been feed

You walked outside and there you could see

Magical beings on ground and on tree

Your destiny was here, you'd stand fast not flee

When they crowned you the Queen of the People of Night

You looked at the sky to see a familiar sight

The stars who had given your life a new light
