Yugi the environmentalist.

The current time: 11:20 AM, Sunday, April 22.

Yugi walked through a grassy patch of land that was empty for the most part except there were a few bushes and tree stumps. Panting, Yugi put the heavy, tightly-tied burlap sack out in front of him and gently dropped it on the ground.

"Say, Yugi...." Yami said from inside the Sen-nen puzzle. "What is this...'Earth Day'?"

Yugi looked at the spirit of his alter ego and said
"Earth Day is a holiday that comes on April 22! On that day, we play our part to help the planet! Recycle, switch to energy-efficient lightbulbs, the options are endless! As for me,I'M planting this Elm tree!"

Yami Yugi closed his eyes and chuckled.
"Just like Yugi to give something back! Every day should be 'Earth Day'!"

"Yup! It's such a good idea!" Yugi replied.

Yugi put down his backpack and opened it, inspecting the contents...

"Let's see, ruler...Check! Shovel...Check! Water bottles...Check! Watering can...Check! Okay, let's get started!!" He cheered.

Yugi unwrapped only the uppermost part of the burlap sack to reveal a young Elm Tree. He traced the shape of the base in the ground with a nearby twig, and oh so carefully moved the tree sapling.

Yugi picked up the shovel (It was a spade) and pushed it into the ground. He was only able to dig once before the earth bent it out of shape. Yugi gasped.

"Oh, great... ...This was the only shovel i thought to bring! I guess the tree will have to wait until tomorrow..." Yugi complained.

"Don't worry about it! We got ya covered!!" A familiar voice said.

Yugi turned in the direction the voice came from to see Jounouchi, Anzu and Honda. Jounouchi had a large shovel, Anzu was carrying a watering can full to the brim, and Honda was pushing a wheelbarrow.

"Need any help?" Honda smirked.
"You guys... ...Thanks a lot!!" Yugi said.

"What can i say? Friends help each other!" Anzu cheered.
"Right!" Jounouchi started. "Now let's get to work!"

Jounouchi dug the hole and put the soil in the wheelbarrow Honda brought along until the hole was at the desired length and depth. Yugi unwrapped the tree completely and put the tree in the hole. Honda unloaded the soil and pat the soil down with his feet. Anzu watered the thirsty tree with the watering can.

Finishing time: 11:51 AM.

After their work was finished, the three took a moment to reflect on their efforts.

"That's going to grow to be really beautiful someday!" Anzu said.
"Thanks for all your help, guys! And i bet nature is thanking us, too!" Yugi said, wiping the sweat of his forehead.

Jounouchi threw his arms up in the air and cheered.

"YOSH!! Let's grab some burgers to celebrate! Last one there's buyin'!!"
Jounouchi and Honda ran off to see who could make it to the hamburger shop first, Yugi and Anzu walked, but kept pace so they wouldn't be too far behind. Yugi and Anzu occasionally looked back at the newly planted sapling and smiled.

"You're absolutely right, Yami!" Yugi thought to himself. "Every day should be Earth Day!"

Happy belated Earth Day! I meant to get this submitted on earth day, but i've been too busy planting trees, and when i came home, i was exhausted!!
Anyway, have you hugged a tree today?
