Alone: Am I Not?

As her voice sung out, she knew she was truly and completely alone. The last person she could call family had died. No more Tuttle root soup and no more stories of her childhood. And as her voice echoed around the room and finally faded, all that she had left was the fight. The fight against the Wraith. And no matter what Charin had said. Her people would never be her family. She had given that up long ago when she had given her life over to the Wraith. The light from above encircled her and the body of her beloved friend. A circle, symbolic, of her life.

Her people started to leave, hurrying to the jumpers, as to not to leave the world of the living as well. She lingered for a moment, absorbing the memory of her friend one last time. She felt a hand on her shoulder and turned into the embrace of Dr. Beckett.

"I'm sorry Teyla," he whispered into her hair. She allowed herself this moment to silently sob into his warm and comforting chest.

"But, it's time to go." Leading her out of the room his hand in hers.

And perhaps she was not alone after all.
