Harry smirked, watching his two best friends from the stairs to the Boys' Dormitory. Ron and Hermione were sitting comfortably in front of the Gryffindor fireplace, sharing a couch and a blanket. It wasn't, of course, because they wanted to share said blanket. Oh no, it was more the fact that they were too "absorbed in their studies" to get up and fetch another one, as Hermione had indignantly explained.

"Honestly Harry, finals are in three and a half months! You can't expect us to take time out of our studies to do something as mundane as fetch another blanket when this one fits both of us just fine."

Ron had nodded, his ears changing progressively from pink to scarlet as Hermione struggled with their excuse. "Studying...yes…three and a half months…completely mundane…"

Harry had raised an eyebrow, but allowed the explanation without further questioning. He had ascended the staircase and intended to go into his dorm, but something kept him from crossing the threshold into the room. Instead, he lingered for a moment on the staircase, deciding to watch his friends for a moment. Just in case anything happened.

And something did. Ron yawned, watching Hermione out of the corner of his eye. He lifted his arms in a stretch.

Harry stifled a laugh. He wouldn't… But he did. Ron successfully managed to rest his arm across Hermione's shoulders. Her only reaction was the tiniest of smiles spread across her lips as she continued to read.

He grinned to himself, silently twisting the doorknob and slipping into the dormitory. Whatever Hermione was reading must have been very much to her liking.
